The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal (American Film Producer), Robert De Niro(American Actor, Film Producer, Director) and Craig Hatkoff (American Real Estate Investor and Philanthropist) to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking center and to contribute to the long term recovery of lower Manhattan after the 911 tragic event. It’s major mission is to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience.
When I got the invitation to this wonderful fiesta I was very interested in knowing how this festival could easily affect all movie makers decisions for their projects, due to the strong competition that allows their talents attract new audience to their own vision.
As an actress I am a fanatic of films that clearly make a difference in my own believes and somehow that energy is valued to be one of the most important factors to consider when I watch a film.
This evening felt like a friendly casual movie making meeting between the East and the West Coast. I met great film makers and visionaries that are craving to see more of what the Tribeca Film Festival is consciously presenting to the audience. Film festivals like this one are essential for this tricky industry to survive when rough times come around. I have to say “ thank you L.A for celebrating the Tribeca Film Festival success in BIG.”
