Canadian Producer P.J. Johal Brings The Next “Paranormal Activity” - First time producer beats all the odds to have career in Hollywood

In an environment where American productions are heading north of the boarder, first time producer Parker J. Johal decided to shoot his first film in Los Angeles. Despite all recommendations from his home town associates, and having no guarantees of the future of his film, he was not deterred. His film was shot with a limited budget and schedule with a production roster that read like a studio blockbuster. His film has been picked up by Paradigm and is now currently making its rounds to the biggest distributors in the world.

P.J. Johal’s first film is being compared with Paranormal Activity a 2007 American supernatural horror film written and directed by Oren Peli. The film centers on a young couple, Katie and Micah, who are haunted by a supernatural presence in their home. It is presented in the style of "found footage" from a camera set up by the couple in an attempt to photograph what is haunting them. It is one of the most profitable movies ever made.

"It was great shooting in the mecca of the film world," Johal said.  "I love the city and the talented people here, and I really believe making this film in LA played a big part in its success. I hope to make many more films here."

Johal who once ran a shelter during hurricane Katrina is already in pre-production on Raymond, a psychological thriller/horror film that he also wrote.

Johal started his career as an actor in his teens and has numerous credits and accomplishments in the field.
