The New York Music Festival (NYIMF) was founded in April 2003 by entertainment guru Stuart Alson and is fast becoming one of the largest exhibitions of innovative musical talent in the U.S. Signed and unsigned artists from all over the world have the chance to showcase their talents and network with A & R executives, talent agents, producers, managers and filmmakers. Musical genres in the L.A line-up include, Hip-Hop, R&B, rap, dance, rock, pop, folk country and gospel. Participating artists are selected from every corner of the globe, including Spain, the U.K, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, France and all over the U.S. The artists were selected by a team of industry professionals and performances will be judged and winning acts will be offered various opportunities in the music industry.
The NYIMF's executive producer and legendary performer Frank Munoz commented, 'The Los Angeles music scene is extremely vibrant and we look forward to showcasing our emerging talent for A & R and talent managers and scouts. The participants get a chance to perform live and insights on how to hone the skills needed to make a career as a singer or musician.'
Highlighted acts include School Boyz, a versatile, cutting-edge quartet who opened and performed with national recording artists such as OutKast, Hall and Oats, the OJ's, and the Four Tops to name a few. Lucia, an R & B singer who has performed with phenomenally successful rapper, 50 Cent. Memphis Hip-Hop artist Wardell Webber, JR (Dirty D) impressed audiences and industry executives in New York and Miami. Award-wining country/pop singer Luly and Debra Faye, an outstanding pop and country singer who has previously performed with Andy Garcia, Connie Stevens and Dennis Franz.
The whole spectrum of the music/film industry will be invited to attend. Representatives from Arista Records, MTV, RCA, Virgin, Interscope, Capitol, Bad Boy Entertainment, Maverick Records have confirmed their attendance along with many talent agencies, film companies and journalists.
