Designer Pamella Roland laid the foundation for Spring 2013 with elegance and charm. At the height of New York Fashion Week, Roland showcased the upcoming collection in a private presentation at the Lincoln Center. Harmonious instruments could be heard lingering above, while editors and photographers awaited the first look. Six fresh-faced models appeared, looking like actresses from old Hollywood films.
The collection featured dramatic evening gowns in romantic silhouettes. Cocktail dresses paired with high gloves, chic separates and bold blazers were exquisitely made in silk crepe, raw silk and silk taffeta.
Reinforcing the color trend for spring (or the lack thereof) Roland presented gorgeous gowns in black and white and monochromatic tones, while offering a refreshing splash of color with yellow or royal blue.
The collection creates geometric lines that provide a contemporary feel to eveningwear. Cutouts, linear shapes and asymmetric hemlines exposed Roland’s newer approach to design.
The inspiration for the Spring 2013 collection comes from “An iconic American designer Ellsworth Kelly who is very known for sleek, simple lines. His paintings are very simple, black and white.”
With celebrity clients such as Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie, Roland’s’ new collection is for the modern woman that embraces femininity, glamour and elegance.
