OROTON & Caroline on the left bank!

While I was in New York, I had the chance to meet Ana Maria Escobar, the Creative Director of one of Australia’s - and not only - favorite brands, Oroton!

Oroton, has a great history on fashion accessories and leather handbags. For the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, Oroton continues its royal affair titled Caroline on the Left Bank. Ana Maria’s inspiration for this collection came from her design trip to Paris, where she became mesmerized by the beauty and timeless sensibility of Princess Caroline of Monaco. “While walking along the left bank of the Seine I noticed the most beautiful woman trying on a perfect leopard dress in a vintage shop. Around her was an entourage of people helping her achieve an effortless elegance. I wanted to create a collection that captured that precise moment, the effect of the leopard dress; of how special one piece can make you feel,” recounts Ana Maria.

Classic feminine lines crafted with a vintage feel in ladylike totes and super elegant mini bags contrasted by texture with the use of printed nylon, Pony skin and glossy Italian resin bringing the season into fruition. This is it! Rose Dust, Tan, Caviar, some sparkles; Grenadine, Cotton Candy and Green Orchid that make us dream… But dreams are real this time, we can carry them with us!

The perfect little shopper bag in the Entourage collection or the beautiful retro-inspired Rose Dust bag that adds glamour to an after-dark look are two of every womans' favorite pieces. At the same time, detailed hardware strengthens the collection in gladiatorial bronzes, gunmetal and gold, while bold jewels are piled up high in regal elegance worked back with silk linen knits, scarves and ballet flats completed with nail polish in the summers highlight colors. Just like Caroline on the Left Bank of Siene and her effortless elegance! Just like OROTON!
