For 10 years, Alber Elbaz has been at the helm of Lanvin, and he celebrated in style showcasing his Fall 2012 collection during Paris Fashion Week.
Elbaz’s skill with through cut, drape and shape shone brightly throughout the entire collection, each look matched with lion's head chokers and belts, oversized clutches, and high-heeled black leather ankle boots. The show began with molded hourglass silhouettes of neoprene in jade, eggplant, pumpkin, marigold, cobalt and crimson. A procession of black looks followed, with keen tailoring blending rounded shoulder and cinched waist with textures ranging from embossed leather to fur trim.
After a rather minimalistic first half, Elbaz revved up the motor for the party frocks that followed. A bevvy of flouncy, bejeweled looks came next throwing intricately placed rhinestones into the pot of exquisite ruffles and gold-toned evening wear. Lace-edged tops with peplumed skirts and bright heels and frothy ruffles practically bounced down the runway for the evening pieces. Elaborate faux emeralds & rubies adorned necks and fur stoles finished the looks.
