Exotic elegance infused with bohemian glamour could best describe Daisy Fuentes SS/2013 collection for Kohl’s. The Only at Kohl’s collection debuted at Style 360 during New York Fashion Week to a full house of style enthusiasts. Within the first few minutes of the show, spectators were transported to a foreign country where glamazons wear vibrant floor length chiffon dresses and rich contemporary daywear.
The collection featured gorgeous tribal print maxis in vivid aqua and royal blue with seductive thigh high slits, an alluring chocolate laser cut slip dress, paisley tiered maxi skirts, crochet tops, bikinis and crop trousers in paisley and scarf prints.
Inspired by the South of Spain, Fuentes created affordable pieces that were seductive yet sophisticated. Each piece captured the essence of Fuentes summer in Spain and her fascination with the “modern gypsy.” saying, “I love the traditional Andalusian gypsy. But I also love the bohemian vibe of the beach towns of Spain, like Ibiza. And that mix was my inspiration. My family is still all in Spain and that's my roots. It made perfect sense for Spring and Summer collection of 2013."
Singer Adrienne Bailon and Julissa Hernandez from the hit show Empire Girls sat captivated from the front row, while Fuentes unleashed earth tones with unexpected burst of color. The collection also included separates that work in harmony for a business casual wardrobe, perfect for the twenty-something with a limited budget and a knack for style.
The collection oozed personality and is best described as cosmopolitan and provincial. Without a doubt Fuentes delivered an affordable yet quality collection that is functional for land and luxurious leisure.
