The much anticipated Cosmopolitan en Espanol Summer Splash event at Soho Beach House was finally here, celebrating 40 years, and kicking off Mercedes-Benz Swim Week. The event took place in non other than hot and spicy Miami Beach, Florida. As Latin celebrities, socialites, fashion know-it-alls, and of course bloggers paraded down the red carpet and into the pool area, waiters and waitresses waited with a pink "Cosmo" drink. The set up of the pool area at the Soho Beach House was perfect, the pool was surrounded by bright pink and white striped lounge couches and a goodie bag to top it off. (For those who were lucky) What really caught the eye was the floating runway over the pool with a jaw dropping tropical leaf backdrop.
As the party went on, attendees started to position themselves in time to view the show which featured the new Swimwear trends for Spring/Summer 2013. Just after 10 pm hit the clock, Alejandra Espinosa of Univision stepped out on the runway and welcomed everyone to the event and the show. She paraded right back down the runway, the lights dimmed and the music came on, it was show time.
Nationally known swimwear designers such as Barraca Chic, Eberjey, Luli Fama, Maya Swimwear, Samsara Imports by Lissette Atassi and Zingara sent out looks onto the runway. Don't go too far, these hard to beat Miami looks were topped off with heat and humidity resistant make-up and hair by COVERGIRL and Pantene. Cameras started flashing, tweeters tweeted, and attendees gasped as their favorite looks came out on the runway, and I jotted down trends.
Once the show ended, Latin pop duo Domino Saints performed. Except, the heat in Miami mid July is unbearable, so many on lookers chit chatted their way out of the Soho House and on to the next Fashion Week event.
