Just recently, at Chelsea’s Pier 59, Nolcha Fashion Week hosted over 19 fashion designers from around the globe; one of them was Claire Farwell of London who featured her Spring 2014 Essentials Collection. Many celebrity guests that were in attendance at Nolcha Fashion Week included Coco Rocha, Christy Turlington, Jennie Garth, Melanie B,Chloe Bridges, among others.
Front row at Claire Farwell’s show was Gossip Girl’s, Kelly Rutherford, who opted to wear a “little black dress” from the Farwell Collection. The Essentials Collection featured some of the latest trends that will be soon approaching for this Spring 2014 season. Some of the features of Farwell’s signature collection include bright colors in red, royal blue, and jade and form fitting fabrics. Other signature trademarks of Farwell’s Essentials Collection include metallic accents, and one strap, off the shoulder dresses, leather piping, and lace accents.
Claire Farwell is no stranger to the modeling and fashion industry as she was a top runway model for years. I sat down with Claire at the swanky Mercer Hotel in Soho to chat post show. During Claire’s modeling career, Farwell graced the pages of magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan. Farewell has worked on high profile campaigns such as Armani and Timotei. The designer even shared an apartment with fashion icon, Naomi Cambell when she began working as a model in Paris. Claire Farwell has also worked with some of the worlds’ top photographers including Terence Donovan, David Bailey, Giles Tapie, Giles Bensimon, among many others.
A former, breast cancer survivor, Claire Farwell is adamant about advocating a cure, raising funds, and donating designs for those inflicted with the disease. Claire Farwell is making a name for herself at the forefront of fashion and philanthropy.
