The collection by rising star, Brandon Sun was a force to be reckoned with. Inspired by the mystical interiors designed by Axel Vervoodt and influenced by eastern Wabi Sabi foundations of simplicity and humility the collection had luxurious looks that were equal parts tough and feminine. Skinny pants, leather trimmings and fur outerwear were the staples of the collection with a quiet air of luxury making the collection as a whole rich and wrought with class.
Featuring a mostly black collection with accents of deep shades of plum and midnight blue, the collection had an ethereal feeling to it. The color palette was inspired by photography of the mountains and forest just before sunrise as the night sky disappears and the sun reflects off the landscape. Using words like granite, steel and hunter to describe the colors, the designer created a visual oasis in the Box at Lincoln Center.
The collection was obviously very well crafted with feminine sashes tied into bows and a perfectly draped waterfall shearling jacket providing fluid movement to the clothes. Mixing in a tough girl attitude with biker silhouettes and chain accessories, although incredibly classic and luxe these clothes are meant for a woman with a bit of edge and sass.
Made with the finest materials in the world featuring BLACKGAMA mink, the furs were the prized possession. Having worked with the fur design departments at both Oscar de la Renta and J. Mendel in the past, Brandon Sun proves his innate ability to create timeless pieces of the upmost quality. Brandon Sun will surely be around for the long haul featuring his designs of luxurious clothing for the modern woman.
