I met Angela Tagoch after her fashion show at the L' Elysee Lounge in Paris, France where her event took place. She wore one of her beautiful designs for the night. We sat next to the bar where we tried to get away from the loud crowd noise and music sound but wasn't any better than any other spot in the place.
Cecilia: How long have you been a designer?
Angela: I started designing when I was a little girl. I was about 7 or 8 years old when I designed barbie doll dresses for my playmates which they encouraged me to make for them in exchange for their lunch allowance. Although I loved doing it more because it was my passion.
Cecilia: What style would you say you are going for in your designs?
Angela: My style is very feminine, very sensual. It also expresses the edginess of a woman, sexy but at the same time elegant.
Cecilia: How does a client acquire your items?
Angela: Usually through my personal assistant or through my website Angela Tagoch and also through Facebook. I am getting ready to launch my ready to wear in Los Angeles.
Cecilia: What inspired you to do this particular collection?
Angela: It has something to do with emotions. As you can see I show a very feminine touch and a very edgy touch. I wanted to show what a woman can be, very confident.
Cecilia: Is this your very first fashion show?
Angela: No, it's not my first fashion show but for the couture in Paris, it is my first fashion show. I will be launching my ready to wear very soon in Paris. Probably by the end of this year.
Cecilia: What about the US and when?
Angela: In the U.S., I will be launching it in California. I have a publicist who is helping me with that and we will be announcing it very soon.
Cecilia: Is there anything else you want your readers to know about your design?
Angela: Yes, it represents all the women in the world. Women nowadays are beautiful and confident. We have to feel beautiful inside and out. That's very important. I would like to express this in my designs by encouraging to be themselves, feel good about themselves inside and out. To be confident.
Cecilia: Are you trying to be different than other designers?
Angela: I am trying to be completely different. My design expresses all the different personalities of a woman because I don't want to limit my design. I want to be able to design for medium size, for bigger sizes and for smaller sizes. Though, I do have a favorite designer who I am crazy about. He is John Galliano.
After our interview, Angela hands me a goodie bag and disappears into the crowd. It was a great night for her, a very successful night. The event was well attended and U.S. sponsored by V8 Productions, "O Skincare" by Olivia Quido and Splash Magazine.
