Jenny Han’s fall 2008 collection launched its debut at the
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week held at Smashbox Studios on March 12, 2008 in Culver City, California.
Launched in Los Angeles in the fall of 2004, Jenny Han is a casual stylish collection of contemporary apparel designed with a seemingly natural yet elegant look for woman. She effortlessly blends rich dark colors with bright vivid colors paired with satin, silk and wool designs to create a charming line of chic clothing.
Booooom! Loud upbeat music pulsates through the room and just as it reaches it's climax big bright lights come on and the models excitedly walk out onto the runway in long loose curls, wearing delicate makeup with glistening soft pink lipsticks airing a slight 70's feel. The show debuts with a high neck ruffle front silk blouse piece and hight waist tweed trousers.
Other looks embellished soft silky tops paired with tweed shorts and a variety of dark colored tights, short wool and satin silk dresses, and big chunky sweaters. Her fall line encompasses both bright and natural warm colors with names such as Autumn Mix, Bamboo, Shadow, Winter White, Moroccan, Cobblestone, and Acacia (an eye catching saffron yellow) and also more well known colors such as purple, teal, green, cobalt blue, brown, cream and black.
Each look was completed by high stiletto heels and dark suede ankle boots courtesy of Michael Antonio. Models also wore scarfs with prints created by Jenny Han in their hair for more of a 70’s modern look. Jenny Han has created yet another masterpiece of apparel for the modern chic woman. These new designs can be mixed and worn both in and out of the workplace coupled with bold accessories such as scarfs, bulky bracelets and lavish leather belts.
The big fashion event of the season was a hit. It's the event where LA’s most edgy and influencial designers come out and reveal their newest creations with high hopes of bedazzling their audience. Celebrities, buyers and press came out for the highly anticipated Jenny Han debut full of enthusiasm and dressed to impress in their very own fashion flair, making their own attempt to dazzle the crowd and gain attention from their peers and designers alike.
Stars such as Mena Suvari glowed with anticipation amidst flashing lights as photographers waited in line to get the next shot. When the show started she giggled with the guest sitting next to her commenting with wideeyes as each new design graced the runway. She was not alone, the entire room overflowed with excitement as Jenny Han’s new fall 2008 line was exposed to the world for the first time. I believe Jenny Han will continue to thrive for another successful season as a very powerful and respectable designer for today's modern woman.
I left with my very own piece of the Fall 2008 Collection from the designer, a hip silver metallic bag with big round handle, beautiful banter of a paisley print scarf created by Jenny Han. When I wear it this fall I’m sure I will bedazzle people wherever I go.
