If you’ve been reading anything about the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, there is one thing that seems to be repeated over and over again. It has nothing to do with who the latest “It Girl” is or which movie is going to move on for an Oscar nod. Instead it has everything to do with frozen toes and sloshy feet.
Silly Californiaboys and girls who don’t know how to pack for snowy weather appear to be the lead story. Followed closely by the company, who sans riding in on the white horse, has become the hero of the day. That company is Sorel and they know what they’re doing they’ve been keeping toes and feet dry ‘n toasty since 1962. They’ve created a generation of designs that are bold, daring and fashionable, footwear which features luxurious materials and flawless construction.
Many a Hollywood Starlet and Sundance Star had their toes saved from frostbite by the generous gifting happening at the Sorel Suite at the Vevo Power Suite Featuring the Fresh Lounge Presented by the Contiunum Entertainment Group.
This wasn’t the first trip to the Sundance Festival and this year Sorel wanted to share the fun with their customers who weren’t able to make it up the mountain. Along their friends at Polyvore they were able to include Facebook fans in the Polyvore Style Challenge. During this challenge their fans had the chance to be gifted like they were the stars, with customized lace plate boot accessories and a pair of Sorels. They were kept in the loop as to the happenings on Main Street by following along on their favorite social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Sorel posted photos from the festival, street style, film premieres, celebrity sightings and updated happenings.
“We were inspired by the positive response at last year’s festival, we knew we had to come back,” said Kimberly Barta, SOREL’s global brand director. “This year, we want our online community to experience the festival with us – by providing exclusive opportunities, including customized lace plates for their SORELs, just like we are doing for our friends in Park City.”
At the festival VIP’s were able to belly up to the Sorel Laser Bar and have lace plates laser etched with whatever they desired. They then were able to choose a pair of Sorels from the 2011 Fall line, like the popular TofinoTM, Cate the Great TM and Joan of Arctic TM for women and the 1964 PremiumTM T and Mad Boot Lace TM for men.
The guest list of those who attended the Sorel Suite reads like a Whos Who of Entertaiment. A few of those VIP’s fortunated enough to have their tootsies rescued and the Sorels they chose were:
Natasha Bedingfield– SOREL Cool Canvas Wedge in Brown
Kate Bosworth – SOREL Caribou in Buff
Kirsten Dunst – SOREL 1964 Premium in Cappuccino
