F1 Abu Dhabi Celeb Gift Lounge Review - The Place to Be

Yas Island  was the center of world this past weekend  as the 2014 Formula One season finals came to a thrilling close in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  The stars came out for the events on and off  the track. From yacht parties, concerts,  to the clubs, to the races themselves, there were countless festivities. There was a dizzying amount of velvet ropes, access badges, and grimed faced guards to make sure that only the select few got access to the most prestigious experiences. One such experience was the Celebrity Gift Lounge at F1.

Lumin in collaboration with FLASH Entertainment hosted a backstage gifting lounge for artists where celebrities and VIPs hung out pre and post Yasalam’s After-Race Concerts.  The VIP lounge was located in the backstage area of the du Arena with the artist alley and was THE place for the celebrities and VIP guests to visit, hangout and engage with a number of highly coveted brands.

“We’re excited to be back for our third year working with FLASH to host the artists and VIPs that visit the Capital during the Yasalam closing weekend. Our list of brands is once again jam-packed with fabulous names,” said Lumin’s General Manager Katherine Raso. “With award winning Abu Dhabi based beauty Lounge Bedashing offering spa treatments, infamous Beach Club Blue Marlin providing entertainment and brands like Pioneer and Lacoste gifting items from their latest collections – our VIP guests were  very impressed.”

This year’s celebs dropped in to experience the exclusive invite-only venue housing an impressive selection of top international and local brands. The exclusive guests enjoyed being refreshed, pampered and personally gifted with unique products from the designers.  Celebs seen at the event included: Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, Armen Van Buren and a host of regional celebs.

Celebs were pampered by Bedashing which was the Official Lounge partner.  Bedashing, is the award winning beauty Lounge with five locations in Abu Dhabi, and provided their fabulous services to both the male and female guests. Manicures and massages were the course of the day for the race weary guests.

The energy in the lounge was kept up tiempo by the spin masters from the Blue Marlin Ibiza UAE list of talented local DJs. The iconic beach club offers a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy amazing food and drinks all while listening to the latest tunes played by top international DJs.

The libations were flowing as guests stopped by the bar to bend the elbow with friends or to meet new ones. They sipped on delicious concoctions from elit™ by Stolichnaya® .  elit is the highest rated vodka in the world with a bold taste and a velvety and smooth finish.  The bar was hosted  with an expert Mixologist who created signature top-class cocktails exclusively for the Lounge. Celebs were also gifted with an exclusive and personalised bottle of Elit.

For a little  play time between the festivities, VIPs and celebs had the chance to show their skills with some ping pong provided by    SPiN Dubai.  Spin Dubai is the only place in Dubai where you’ll find designer Ping-Pong tables, a world class bar, a fusion of international cuisine and a shisha Lounge all under one fabulous roof.   Part of an international network of Ping-Pong social clubs founded in New York City by Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, SPiN Dubai  gave  celebs, artists, and vips a chance  to  challenge their pals to a game of Ping-Pong.

The gift lounge is a place to go to, of course, stop in for an impressive catch of swag.

One of my favorite gifts was the beautiful wearable art by  BaluJoias. Celebs received  modern and edgy bracelets, earrings and other baubles created with Swarofski elements, semi precious stones, gold, silver and leather. Sharon Harris is the founder and creative brain of BaluJoias, the latest ‘one to watch’ fashion to come out of Dubai. For the VIP Lounge, BaluJoias has added an exclusive piece to the Lucky7 collection – a glazed horse shoe with crystal squares.

Other fantastic catches included:

Lacoste Eyewear – taking fashion into the fast lane, Lacoste will be gifting the celebrities and VIP Lounge guests with sunglasses from their 2014 Fall/Winter collection. The sport-inspired frames  allowed  the stars to brave the sun…and the camera flashbulbs.

Pioneer (Tad)–Digital entertainment specialists Pioneer have one goal – truly pure sound.   The TAD-D1000 Disc Player, which both catapult users through a gateway into pure, high-resolution sound, Pioneer gifted guests with the new flagship headphone series, dubbed as Superior Club Sound (SCS).

Arcadian - Arcadian Apparel celebrates the fusion of the art, heritage, and futurism of Dubai - the 21st Century Arcadia - and is the first online T-shirt website that promotes and sells wearable art inspired by Emirati culture.

Mosaique  - Founded and driven by a passion for beautiful design, eclectic home décor, exquisite furniture and tasteful accessories

Keek and Ethical Muse – Keek is one of the top mobile video social network with 71 mllion members worldwide and the leading mobile video app in the Middle East and Gulf region . This globally popular social video platform, allows members to create and share videos up to 36 seconds in length. Keek has also partnered with local designers Ethical Muse to create the official 2014 VIP Lounge bag. Ethical Muse, design and source high quality, recycled and sustainable accessories and for the official bag have used upcycled coffee sacks and used denim to create must-have messenger style bags.

F1 Abu Dhabi on Yas Island was the hottest place on the planet. And the  place to be for celebs to chill out and get some cool swag is the Celeb VIP Lounge by Lumin.
