Oscars. Hollywood. Happenings. Every year around Academy Award season there are tons of exciting events in tinsel town. The night of the awards after the televised ceremony, celebs head out to all kinds of parties. However, days before the gold statuettes are handed out, stars and VIPs are given the opportunity to receive some wonderful things... at pre-Oscar Gifting Suites.

One of the very best is Doris Bergman’s Ninth Annual Valentine Romance Oscar Style Lounge and Party.

On Thursday, February 23, 2017, over 100 of the film industry’s Oscar Nominated actors, former Oscar winners, presenters, stylists and industry VIPS headed over to the Fig & Olive restaurant on Melrose Place in West Hollywood to honor the 89th Annual Academy Awards.

The event was hosted by BuyWine.com and featured an incredible array of fashion for him and her including couture gowns, bespoke tuxedos & suits, the finest in beauty, skin & hair care, stunning jewelry collections, gorgeous accessories, fashion-forward handbags, fabulous fragrance, cutting-edge electronics, lifestyle elegance, gourmet cuisine, premiere Napa wines, unique spirits, delectable sweets and much more!

In addition to schmoozing with other stars and celebs, the attendees received fabulous gifts and goodies. One of my favorite stops was Twisted Silver. Founder Debra Dawson Mitchell has designed distinctive jewelry that’s innovative and edgy, using earthybase metals, recycled, found objects, and vintage asymmetry.

Twisted Silver jewelry looks great on every gal!

Speaking of wonderful things, Samiah Fine Clothing was also represented at the event. Their unique line of clothing is inspired by movies, old world royalty, and romantic eras such as Victorian and Renaissance times. Each of the guests was gifted with a beautiful brocade tote bag.

Samiah is most well known for their brocade coats and jackets, and they held a contest that celebs could enter to win a custom-made coat that would be named after them! Winners were Karina Smirnoff from Dancing with the Stars and actor Vincent Spano.

For people who dance the night away and get sore feet, you'll want to try the FootMate System by Gordon Brush. This massager and scrubber is called The Ferrari of Footcare. I can't wait to put it in my bathtub and rub-a-dub-dub my little tootsies!

My shoulder looks smooth and so will my feet, thanks to Footmate!

If you want to be lookin’ good night or day, there were other clothing lines to check out. Art Lewin Bespoke has master tailors creating their suits and shirts, worn and loved by many Hollywood stars.

Sue Wong Couture Gowns, Single Dress, Kaya Di Koko and Sassy Locks Custom Baby Clothing all showed their unique designs as well.

Babies are adorable, and so are Sassy Locks personalized baby clothes!

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism was an exhibitor, inviting guests to come and enjoy their lovely beaches, and for those who want excitement and adventure without leaving home, FIBRUM Virtual Reality gifted awesome portable virtual reality headsets.

Wow - go on an exciting adventure just putting on this cool Fibrum VR headset!

Appetizers and lunch were served from the Fig & Olive kitchen and guests even got to take home some fine bottles of wine, compliments of BuyWine.com.  I’m going to enjoy them in my new apartment as well the delicious Spa Girl Vodka.

Who wouldn't love a nice Spa Girl Pear Martini?

Photo Tee-Shirts had their truck there, where you could get a custom-made shirt on the spot from a photo you provide. I took the opportunity to put the cover of my upcoming new book on a shirt. It came out soooo cool, I may just have to order a bunch that feature it: How to Live Like a MILLIONAIRE When You’re a MILLION Short.

In addition to the fabulous gifts, attendees all received an extra goodie bag when they left the party. I’m pleased to say I contributed packages of my custom-designed FrogNotes… Laugh ‘til You Croak. These are fun greeting cards that illustrate the men who are frogs that won’t turn into princes!

In the spirit of giving back, guests and sponsors donated unwrapped gifts for young adults (ages 13-18) for a Post-Holiday Gift Drive benefitting Wednesday’s Child -- a weekly segment airing on KTTV FOX 11 News, Los Angeles, with Anchor Christine Devine. Wednesday’s Child highlights "harder to place" children in the LA County foster care system who are in need of adoptive families. Bergman always invites two foster children to join in on the festivities and experience what it feels like to be treated as a VIP.
