Oscar season and Valentine’s Day got off to a romantic and spectacular start on Tuesday, February 8th at the Third Annual Valentine Romance ‘Sneak Peek’ Oscar Suite, a hit the very moment it opened at Hollywood’s famed La Boheme Restaurant in West Hollywood. The sensational invitation-only event was produced by the oh-so-fab Doris Bergman and Kathy Duliakas, and indulged over 100 of Hollywood’s finest with the restaurant’s 5-star gourmet cuisine created by Executive Chef,Christine Banta .
Along with the delicious food, served on the open-air patio, guests were treated to an incredible assortment of star-quality skin care, glamorous hair accessories, couture fashion for both him and her, head-turning jewelry, the latest in footwear, divine sweets, fabulous scents, exotic spirits, romantic getaways, the luggage to carry them there in style, and much, much more.
It was hard to see what shined brighter, the Hollywood stars, the Tuscan ambiance, or the Red Carpet clothing and accessories. Some of the stars in that department included Twisted Silver, a knockout collection of earrings, bracelets and necklaces made of mixed metals with some unusual vintage charms and pieces you definitely won’t see yourself coming and going in!
And speaking of collections, how about Kama Sutra, a new line of exotic lotions and potions that promises to make love-making more exciting! It includes everything from Kiss-Me-Cherry and Love-Me-Mint EroSticks to Chocolate Caress and Strawberries & Champagne Honey Dust Body Powder. Seems like the only missing ingredient is Brad Pitt!
Lucky for us, there were already plenty of sexy hotties to be spotted right there, like Kevin Eubanks from “ The Tonight Show,” and Billy Zane from “The Deep End” and “Samantha Who?” Billy said, "This suite is exquisite. It's very generous. There's a splendid array of goodies!” “I’m having a wonderful time – the patio dining, the buffet lunch, the tray-passed appetizers – the quality of the vendors – this is really a special treat!” added Mischa Barton.
Speaking of treats, we loved the Rubina’s Cake Shoppe truffles, each one made with love and decorated individually by the lady who created them. It’s her very own recipe and even can be ordered as a wedding cake. And if those truffles weren’t tempting enough, there were Antonia’s Nuts to test our willpower. Ours were Caramelized pecans slow roasted to perfection and smothered in chocolate.
Guests could follow up their meal and desserts with a refreshing drink of Waialua Soda Works; AQUAMANTRA PremiumNatural SpringWater; Blue Angel Ultra Premium Vodka; or even a little more chocolate in Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream Liqueurs.
Another treat of the day was Stemulation™, an all natural facial treatment the company says helps stop and repair aging, thereby giving skin a more youthful appearance. We can't reveal their ages, but the two reps we spoke with were shining examples of how well Stemulation works.
“What a beautiful party!” said Vivica A. Fox, “The ambience, the gifts, the food -- this is amazing – I’m so happy to be here!” 2011 Grammy-Nominated artist, Gramma Funk chimed in, "This is so fabulous. I've been to a few gift suites before but nothing like this one -- I'm coming back!”
Other gifts and services included clothing for every occasion, from fancy to casual to sport. We especially loved the CardiWrap by Kymaro - a sweater that can be worn a myriad of ways: twist it, wrap it, toss it, or knot it for a completely different style, morning, noon and night. The new athletic shoes by chung shi were fantastic – made with health, fitness, and beauty in mind.
Hmmm, did we say beauty? ‘‘Dancing With the Stars’ beauties Anna Trebunskaya and Edyta Sliwinska, ‘Twilight’/’Eclipse’ hotties Michael Welch, Bronson Pelletier & Kiowa Gordon, Oscar Nominees -- Producer, Dana Brunetti, Best Picture ‘Social Network’ and Jenny Beaven, Costume Designer ‘The King’s Speech,’ Chris McDonald, Ariel Winter, Charlene Amoia, Marisa Ramirez, Marilu Henner, James Kyson Lee, Kevin Rahm, Oscar Nunez, Scott Baio, Carrie Keagan, Sofia Milos, and Fairuza Balk were among the bevy of celebrities and industry VIPS who were treated to the glorious event.
Additional gifts and services were provided by co-host Jurlique – an anti-aging luxury skin-care line; Art Lewin & Co. Custom Clothiers; couture gowns by Ali Rahimi for Mon Atelier; evening handbags by Menbur; lush lashes by MaximumLash®; men’s T’s by Phobiasby RedPil™; jewelry designer, Liz Alpert; designer totes by Emilie Sloan™; a one-week retreat at Live In Fitness; Angus Mitchell Hair Salon; luggage by Caribbean Joe®, Coleman Luggage®, Traveler’s Choice®, and EcoTraveler™; MilaniClip-In Hair Extensions®; Whirl-a-Style; Model in a Bottle®;Buddha Balm®; Spongeables® LLC bath and shower treats, Essential Journeys™, makers of Soap by the Slice™; Dream Essentials™ Sleep Mask; Gold Canyon™ highly scented candles; and CellCeuticals®.
In the spirit of giving back, guests brought stuffed animals and toys to donate to LoveCuresCancer®, all of which were delivered to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on Valentine’s Day.
