Revelry reigned supreme when, shrouded in mystery, Dubai’s elite descended on The Capital Club, Dubai’s premier private business club and member of the ENSHAA group of companies, for one of the most anticipated social events of the year – The Capital Club’s Masquerade Ball.
Resplendent in their most spectacular masks and Shakespeare inspired finery, The Club’s Members and their guests enjoyed an evening of merriment that lasted well into the early hours of the morning. Speaking about the evening, Emma Cullen, Capital Club General Manager, commented, “The Club’s social event’s are always a highlight, and this was no exception. Our Members truly outdid themselves and it was wonderful to see the magnificent lengths they went to, to pay tribute to the evening’s Shakespearean theme. I thank everyone of our Members and their guests for making the event a resounding success and look forward to many more wonderful occasions.”
In keeping with the evening’s Shakespeare theme, The Capital Club underwent a Globe Theatre inspired metamorphosis, with stairwells garlanded in red roses, soft flickering lights, and the Bard’s timeless prose scattered throughout its third and fourth floors. Guests were kept entertained bya jester, jugglers, and the silken voiced ministrations of the beautiful and the talented Cara Jane Roberts and Andrea Leigh, while DJ Richard made sure that elegantly shod feet kept tapping to the beat.
And, as no tribute to Shakespeare would be complete without a decadent array of treats, a selection of delicious hot, cold, and sweet canapés, ranging from homemade veal pate on crispy ciabatta and prawn and scallop toad-in-the-hole, to sticky sweet treacle sponge with orange sauce, that have been specially designed by Executive Chef Cyrille Troesch. In true medieval style, the feasting continued till late and midnight saw the unveiling of whole roasted lamb served in freshly baked baps to reenergise the revellers.
