The sixth annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine Event ran from April 4-7, 2013 at California’s iconic Pebble Beach Resorts. Presented by Food & Wine Magazine, the event featured more than 100 prominent chefs, over 250 wineries from around the globe, and over 300 volunteers - in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Over 8,000 fashionable people attended to feed on sole, feed their soul, and stretch their soles. The opening night reception was held at the Inn at Spanish Bay. It included culinary masters of food and exclusive wine vendors, along with some of the best networking and people-watching in California.
Some of this year’s highlights from Opening Night included the chance to sample elite tastings of private vintage wines like Garrus, a Provence rosé from Château d’Escalans near St Tropez in France. Grown on an 80-year-old vine, it’s the most exclusive rosés in the world with only 10 barrels produced each year. It was like liquid cashmere!
Other highlights of the Opening Night included meeting the hard-working incredible chefs and trying their mouth-watering creations. Some of our favorites were Jeremy Tummel or Stillwater Bar & Grill (the Lodge at Pebble Beach); Rick Tramonto from the famed Restaurant R’evolution in New Oreleans, who has participated in the event since the first year; plus David Werly, Executive Chef of the triple Five Star Madarin Oriental in Las Vegas.
Pebble Beach Food & Wine continues the tradition of partnering with local charities to donate a portion of the proceeds back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County, Voices for Children, and the Pebble Beach Company Foundation – which provides grants to local schools and organizations.
