LAS VEGAS (November 7, 2013) Iconic pop/R&B artists and husband and wife duo Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr. performed to a sold out crowd inside the intimate Cabaret Jazz Room at The Smith Center benefitting Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN).
Dressed in sparkling cheetah print dress and dark grey suit, McCoo and Davis delighted guests with a repertoire of their classic songs such as "Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In," "Up, Up and Away," "One Less Bell," "Wedding Bell Blues" and "You Don't Have To Be A Star (To Be In My Show)."
Marilyn McCoo greeted the crowd reminiscing about their first gig on the strip "We are so happy to be here with you all tonight. How sweet it is!
Guests also bid on silent auction items including tickets to Celine Dion and Penn & Teller, dinner at Mundo and Rice & Company as well as an Alexander McQueen purse and bracelet from Neiman Marcus and jewelry from the Joan Rivers Collection. All proceeds from the evening benefitted AFAN and their services for adults and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.
"Tonight was such a thrill - Marilyn and Billy were fantastic together and we helped raise nearly $8000 for AFAN," said Antioco Carrillo, AFAN's executive director. "The event keeps getting bigger and bigger and we're already looking forward to next year."
AFAN is also in the midst of their annual holiday toy drive, collecting toys and money for more than 150 local children. Donate new, unwrapped toys at participating Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Jamba Juice locations.
