The Plaza Food Hall Hosts City Meals-on-Wheels Benefit

Todd English and City Meals-on-Wheels partnered for one night of fun, food and fundraising at the newly opened Plaza Food Hall located in the famed New York Plaza Hotel.

The event featured a VIP reception allowing for a special introduction to The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English for the high end donor and the opportunity to sample the delicious Caviar sponsored by The California Caviar Company.

The Caviar Bar reception was delicious down to the tin!

The California Caviar Company presented a selection of both imported and domestic Caviars from Saffron Whitefish Imported Russian Osetra farmed golden from Israel and Domestic Caviar California White Sturgeon farmed Golden additionally a superb fusion of Bacon and golden smoked salmon. The caviar bar reception was a delicious touch and the caviar sampled had a very smooth taste with a delicate salt flavor.

The Classic Tote by Ghurka and novelty Cookbooks were also part of the silent auction items to benefit City-Meals-on Wheels.

The event featured a silent auction with luxury items and gourmet gifts donated from the Shops at The Plaza including from The Plaza Beauty, A Day of Plaza Pampering, GreenPan Gourmet Cookware, the classic weekend leather carry-tote by Ghurka and of course, a 100% of all proceeds from any Todd English Culinary and Cuisine products throughout the evening were donated to City Meals-on-Wheels.

The reception also included sample tastings at all eight stations designed in The Plaza Food Hall. The stations are a mixture of European fare, Asian cuisine and American style dishes each serving a unique blend of culinary creations.

The Seafood Bar, located center station, had a artistic centerpiece of delicious delectable’s from the deep piled high including Oysters on the half-shell (east & west coast) and Woodbury Little Neck Clams. All were served in abundance throughout the evening!

The Chef’s created several variations of  deep sea delights including boiled Shrimp dishes complete with several sauces from the classic cocktail sauce to Tellicherry pepper mignonette and whole mustard aioli! Branzino, European Sea Bass, and Salmon were both served and savored! All offerings were tantalizingly tempting and, yes, very delicious!

The Food Hall has many gourmet culinary and cuisine products for purchase.

The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English also serves the Catch of the Day where on any given day Alaskan King Crab, Char-broiled and sautéed Shrimp, Jonah Crab Claws, Maine Lobster Cocktail and with summer in high season the delicious grilled New England Lobster “roll” a deliciously different variation on the summer staple are possible.

The Asian Sampler: Classic California roll, Tuna Two-way and Crab Two-way.

For this evening the Asian sampler included the classic California roll, sushi, steamed vegetable and pork dumplings also Tuna two-way and Crab two-way with a spicy crab strips atop the classic Crab roll. Just ahead of the Dessert Bar the classic European Fruit and Cheese selections offered many varieties of classic European chesses, breads and charcuterie.

The Americana bar station served up Classic Burgers and Sliders: The Prime Rib sliders, piled high with tender Prime Rib, caramelized onions and Fontina on a plain grill toasted bun, and the classic Americana mini Kobe burgers, stacked with fried onion, grilled bacon, roasted tomato, gorgonzola and a special Todd English sauce.

The American fare was very well received with standing room two and three deep behind the seated marble counters. For this evening the classic American French Fry was added served with grated parmesan cheese and Chef Todd’s special sauce.

Simply delicious: The classic California roll!

City-Meals-on-Wheels accepts donations throughout the year and plays a major role in ensuring that healthy well balanced meals are delivered to those in need weekends, weekdays, holidays and in times of emergency. It is the largest organization of its kind delivering 2.1 million meals to 17,000 seniors each year.

Exquisite, sensuous, Todd English smooth chocolates pre-packaged and for this evening served.
