UNLVino 42nd Annual Wine Tasting Event

UNLVino 42nd Annual Wine Tasting event was yet another smashing success. Held in the Paris Hotel Ballroom, UNLVino was the brain child of Southern Wine and Spirits of Nevada, Senior Managing Director Larry Ruvo and Dr. Jerry Valen, founding dean of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. The college is based on the campus of UNLV and provides hotel management studies to it's students.

This year's event was every bit as enjoyable as last years. Wines from all over the world were served along with tasty appetizers and brilliant bites of amazing culinary courses.

Romero Britto is the official UNLVino artist and has added one of his works to the event for the past 16 years. This year's submission was equally superb. Britto is a Brazilian born, international pop artist  and his contributions have added immensely to the overall success of UNLVino.

The event was held over three nights, starting April 14 at the Venetian Hotel with Bubble-Licious. Hundreds of champagnes and sparkling wines were offered and plates of food were offered from the fine restaurants at the Venetian and Palazzo hotels. The following night, April 15, brought us to The Red Rock Casino and Sake Fever. Sake, craft beers and craft spirits were served to the delight of the ample crowd. Due to the extremely high winds that Las Vegas experienced that weekend the event was moved from poolside to the Red Rock Ballroom with no loss of intimacy or fun. And finally, the final night, The Grand Tasting, was held at the Paris hotel, over 200 different wines were served. The money raised by this event is used to support thousands of students who have gone on to become premier leaders in the hotel management and hospitality industry.
