ABOUT THE ONE STEP CLOSER FOUNDATION

The One Step Closer Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization whose main goal is to ease—as much as possible—the lives of those with CP. The Raising the Stakes for CP Celebrity Poker Tournament brings together celebrities, poker pros, high rollers and everyday poker enthusiasts together to increase awareness about CP and raise funds to assist people with the disorder and their families. CP is an incurable disorder that affects the body movement, muscle control, coordination and tone. It impacts reflex, posture balance and sometimes fine motor skills, gross motor skills and oral motor functioning. Over 700,000 adults and children in the United States currently have CP. Two to three children out of every thousand born will be diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

ABOUT JACOB ZALEWSKI

Born February 13, 1983, three months premature Jacob Zalewski was given a 3% chance of survival due to various complications at birth. He was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of three, but the onset came at birth. Zalewski has never considered himself handicapped by this debilitating disease. Rather he has considered it a blessing, looking at it as something God has entrusted him to use positively to inspire others.
