The Space, the brainchild of Las Vegas entertainer and philanthropist Mark Shunock, celebrated its grand opening onThursday, January 5, 2017. Invited guests, including media, founders, and local performers were invited to tour the new community arts complex located at 3460 Cavaretta Court just minutes off the Las Vegas Strip.
The Space’s visitors were also treated to music in the piano bar as they sipped cocktails and enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres from Fleming’s, a sentimental welcome by Shunock and entertainment from The Moonshiners.
The Space officially welcomed the public for Mondays Dark on Monday, January 9 as Las Vegas performers joined together to celebrate the music of Forrest Gump to benefit Veterans Village. Mondays Dark brings strip entertainers together to perform for the benefit of local charities. In the past, Shunock has produced the shows monthly, but in 2017, two charities will benefit each month. On January 23, Carestream will be the recipient of money raised as a result of the concert.
The new community-driven, charity-based arts complex is set to be a haven for all arts and artists in Las Vegas and designed to accommodate a wide variety of events including plays, musicals, intimate concerts, readings, workshops of all kinds, ancillary fundraising events, parties and photo shoots.
Featuring state-of-the-art technology and a convenient location with ample parking, The Space offers featured charities additional community space and offers multi-level sponsorship opportunities to local businesses.
The Space will also offer a variety of kid-friendly productions, classes, and workshops for the youth in Las Vegas. The new arts complex features a 3,000 square foot raw performance space, a black box theater, two rehearsal studios, podcast/recording studio, and a vintage piano bar and lounge.
