The Artist, Best Picture of 2012, was well represented at the 22nd Annual Night of 100 Stars at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Five co-stars from the award- winning flick including Ed Lauter, James Cromwell, Missi Pyle and Beth Grant were on hand; as well as more than 100 voting Academy members. This black-tie Oscar viewing party, hosted by former music agent Norby Walters always includes a slew of former Oscar winners and nominees, and this year was no exception. Among those we spotted schmoozing during the cocktail hour were Dianne Ladd, Richard Dreyfuss, Martin Landau (with his girlfriend of many years, Gretchen), and Michael Lerner, to name a few.
We were pleased to be seated with gorgeous Harry Hamlin, minus his equally gorgeous wife, Lisa Rinna. Seems lovely Lisa had laryngitis, probably due to the hawking her new clothing line on QVC. Also at my star-studded table were Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, who are celebrating their 42nd years of marriage. They just published their secrets of staying happy and healthy in a book entitled Up, UP and Away – (their hit song when they were members of The Fifth Dimension).
Others being interviewed on the enormous red carpet by more than 300 outlets, included Soap Star, Brenda Dickson, Fred Willard, Lou Ferrigno (who is making quite a smash on Celebrity Apprentice), Richard Greico and Joe Bologna and Renee Taylor.
The array of beauties on hand was capped by blonde Kristanna Loken (Schwarzenegger’s co-star in Terminator 3), Michelle Phillips (who is producing a film based on her experiences with The Mamas and the Papas) and a bunch of bunnies, directly from the Playboy Mansion, all wearing fabulous designer duds.
Feminist attorney, Gloria Allred, always makes a statement with her ”escort” for the event, and this year she walked the red carpet with Ginger White, who had an alleged 13 year affair with one-time presidential hopeful, Herman Cain. In prior years, it was Amber Frey (lover of convicted murderer, Scott Peterson); and porn star, Joslyn James, former mistress of Tiger Woods. Wonder who the lucky gal will be in 2013?
Kudos to PR Wiz, Edward Lozzi, and photographer Glen Lipton, who graciously provided the photos for my columns.
