Scandinavian Pre-­Oscar Celebration - Honoring the 2014 Scandinavian Oscar Nominees

The Scandinavian Pre-Oscar Party 2014 honors the nominees from Scandinavia. The event will take place on February 27th, three days before the 86th Academy Awards, starting at 7pm at the prestigious art gallery Jack Rutberg Fine Arts in West Hollywood, located on 357 North Le Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

From Denmark, “The Hunt” is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, “The Act of Killing” is nominated for Best Documentary Feature and “Helium” is nominated for Best Live Action Short. The Finnish movie “Do I Have to take Care of Everything?” is also nominated for Best Live Action Short.

The team behind “The Hunt” has already received a large number of awards.  As an example, the movie won a Golden Globe in the category Best Foreign Language Film and the leading actor, Mads Mikkelsen, was awarded, Best Actor in both the Cannes Film Festival and the Bodil Awards. “The Act of Killing” has also been successfully acclaimed with a large number of awards and nominations, for example Best Documentary in the Berlin Film Festival.

The Scandinavian Pre‐Oscar Party 2014 is an exclusive invitation only event hosted by the Swedish-­‐American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles and will be held at the prestigious art gallery Jack Rutberg Fine Arts, where the guests will also get a preview of the upcoming exhibition Twin Visions: Jerome Witkin & Joel-­‐Peter Witkin. Complimentary drinks and traditional Scandinavian appetizers will be served throughout the evening.
