It is the quintessential sunny day in LA, and from where I perch on the rooftop of the luxurious London Hotel, my eyes drink in one of the most fabulous views around.
The venue is decorated with gorgeous white roses and the collection of emerald green accessories provided by Stella and Dot compliments the beautiful hue of my refreshing Midori cocktail. What could be more perfect other than the styling advice I'm receiving from the great fashion stylist, George Kostsiopoulos? A girl could pinch herself! I have long admired his career as a fashion tastemaker, but especially enjoy getting my weekly fix of him on E! Entertainment's "Fashion Police" with Joan Rivers.
I am struck by how humble he has remained with all of the success he has achieved. We discuss his Greek heritage and how although he was always interested in the arts, his immigrant parents had urged him to follow a different path of something more traditional. He graduated with an accountant's degree from the University of Illinois, but it was not long after that before he fled to Los Angeles to follow his real dream.
Although he had a quick stint as a bartender, he quickly landed job in the style department of The New York Times Magazine and the rest is history. His latest venture is a book he wrote by the name of "Glamour" which will help women to infuse corporate style with glamour in everyday life. It's set to be released in January. Although he probably doesn't need it, Let's raise a toast to George and his continued success with my third Midori cocktail (Damn they're good!)
