The annual Los Angeles Antiques Show, now known as the Los Angeles Antiques Art + Design Show, has a new home this year at the spacious 3Labs Studio in Culver City. The new location is conveniently located just south of the Santa Monica Freeway and offers 30,000 square feet of high-end exhibition space. Like last year, the show is being held at a later time in the year than previous years and has also expanded its focus with contemporary art and design joining the exhibitors of world-class traditional antiques. The show also will partner this year with the Hearst Design Group, which publishes Elle Decor, House Beautiful, and Veranda magazines.
The opening night gala on October 9 benefits LACMA’s Decorative Arts and Design Council. This group was formed to support fundraising for the LACMA Decorative Arts and Design Department so that highly significant works of art can be acquired for LACMA’s permanent collection.
This years sponsors include 1stdibs, Donghia, Hearst Design Group, California Homes, and The Magazine Antiques.
In addition to the 50 plus exhibitors, there will be a lecture Friday night, October 11, from 6:30pm-8:30pm, entitled My Big Break: Design Stars Discuss Game-Changing Moments in Their Careers. Join top designers Eric Cohler, Cliff Fong, Mary McDonald, Charlotte Moss and Kelly Wearstler as they share lively, informative and entertaining stories from their unique paths to success, in conversation with moderator, Newell Turner, Editorial Director of The Hearst Design Group and Editor in Chief of House Beautiful.
