Gallerie Sparta Opening Night Gala

LOS ANGELES, CA  – Gallerie Sparta, the new Sunset Plaza art gallery in West Hollywood, had its exclusive VIP opening night gala reception on Saturday, June 8, 2013 to showcase some of the most talented and sought after critically acclaimed international artists in the world. The event was hosted by Penny Vizcarra with iPR (Integrated PR Agency).

Gallerie Sparta is named after its co-founder and co-owner Stephan Sparta, a French born renowned international architect and interior designer who has designed commercial and residential projects for high profile clientele all over the world.

Lee Bowers, a Kansas native and great grand niece of the American sculptor Vinne Ream, is also co-owner and founder of Gallerie Sparta and is an extraordinary landscape and abstract artist who also spent years in Hollywood designing and directing special visual effects and motion graphics for the entertainment industry.

Among those in attendance were art collectors, some of the showcased artists themselves, and celebrities like Hilary Duff, Tess Broussard (Comedy Central’s Nick Kroll Show), Alex Lombard (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Arlene Klasky (American animator), Amber Scholl (Entertainment Reporter), film director/producer Christy Oldham (Cain and Abel, Barracuda), film producer Clinton H. Wallace (Violent Blue, American Nudist), and Yamashiro architect/designer Carlos Ulloa.

 Guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres as their senses and eyes feasted on the amazing works of some of the most sought after and critically acclaimed international artists in the world.

 The showcased artists included:   Hedva Ser, Israeli born French and English trained artist who is one of Europe’s most talented sculptors and is UNESCO’s Ambassador of Peace; Yvonne Domenge, Mexico’s foremost female living sculptor and 2008 Beijing Olympics featured artist; Alfredo Antognini, 75 year old “Argentinean Master Painter;” Helen Bayley, RISD trained Renaissance artist; Christian Breed, RISD trained and named the “New Jackson Pollock;” Michel Bocart, considered the most skilled and original Belgium painters and named “The Belgian Contemporary Master Painter;” Lee Bowers, Cal Arts trained intuitive artists and co-owner of Gallerie Sparta; Bari Kumar, Indian born OTIS Art Institute trained painter, Shane Guffogg, Cal Arts trained California native who was an assistant to Ed Ruscha for 23 years; and Wendy Waugh, New York Academy of Art trained and mentee of Claude Falcone.
