BET weekend is crystalized by events and ceremonies to commemorate artists, musicians and fashion influentials who have significantly contributed to the entertainment industry. A fashion show at Siren Studios in Hollywood took place on June 29, 2013 to showcase designers swimwear and lingerie collections. The show was located on the rooftop of the venue and all guests were required to wear white. The event was hosted by Terrence Terrell and Rikki Dee. Emerging and established designers participated in the event which made for both an interesting and dynamic show. While I found some of the designs to be a bit over-done, the ones that were designed to be trendy without being too much particularly caught my attention.

I really love how this leapord printed one piece is designed. The two piece leapord swimsuits can be boring and repetative, but the scarf detail and the cut of the swimsuit really seperates this particular piece from the traditional leaport print bikini.

The pearl detail on this bikini is really eye catching. Some of the other pearl embellished suits on the runway were too overwhelming. I like this one because it looks as if the model can acutally wear this to the pool without drowning in it from too much embellishment. A little goes a long way and I think this designer did a really great job of reflecting that onto the design.

The colors in this suit are very vibrant and the flower detail certainly creates that sought after resort-inspired look that's in syle this season. The color along with the pattern and high-waisted bottom really compliments the models skin and hair color.

We're seeing a pattern this season of swimwear that is straying from solid color suits. Designers are desperately trying to create new styles and ecclectic patterns to spicen up their swimwear by making their merchandise unique. I think sometimes designers get jaded about this idea and their swimwear gets to be too much. I loved this piece, because although it is simple it commands a lot of attention because it is so bright. If it were to be over-embellished with too many chains or sequence, the swimsuit wouldn't have that timeless effect. Again, a little goes a long way.
