Five time heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield Celebrated his 50th Birthday party at Julien’s Auctions Gallery on Friday October 19th, 2012.
Julien’s Auctions Gallery is the world’s premier sports and entertainment auction house in Beverly Hills. Julien’s showcased a collection of Holyfield’s memorabilia spanning his entire career which will go up for auction on November 30, 2012.
Many celebrity guests were expected to attend such as Mike Tyson, Olympian Sharrieffa Barksdale, George Forman Sr., George Forman Jr., author Lee Grunfeld, Chicago Bear Willie Gault, legendary Dallas Cowboy Anthony Henry, actor Vincent Ward, Margaret O’Brien and Hollywood icon Mickey Rooney. Unfortunately only a handful actually showed. The 1984 Olympics Heavy Weight Gold Medalist and Holyfield’s old sparing partner Henry Tillman was there to celebrate the champs Birthday, Along with actor Vincent Ward, author Lee Grunfeld, and the legendary Dallas Cowboy Anthony Henry.
A few of Holyfield’s kids was also there to celebrate his Birthday, Ethan Holyfield, Ewin Ezekiel Holyfield, and Emani Holyfield.
There were many fans that showed up and filled the auction house. Estimated over 300 people were there to celebrate, and take photos with the Boxing Legend. It turned into a great networking event as many people mingled and passed business cards. The energy in the room was full of smiling faces and great vibes. This was probably one of the few times that Evander Holyfield was so accessible to so many fans without restriction. He was happy to stop and take photos with fans, and the Media. He also did several video interviews. Fox News, Cbs News, 5 Minute Photos, Getty images, Wire Image, Beverly Hills Courier, WENN, Pr Photos and many other outlets were there to cover this event.
They passed around appetizers such as filet mignon, meatballs, salmon, and a variety of other delicious snacks. Holyfield received several gifts of which one was a handmade quilt from the National Indian Gaming Association. From the smile on his face he seemed to have really liked it. The event was only about 3 hours long but it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be apart of those 3 hours. As the night was coming to an end everyone gathered around the pair of Everlast boxing gloves of a cake, and began singing Happy Birthday to the Birthday Boy as he made the first cut in his cake.
The official Birthday celebration came to an end at Julien’s Auctions Gallery around 9pm, but the night wasn't over yet. Holyfield and fans along with his friends and family headed over to the after party at Jane’s House in Hollywood. There was a red carpet set up at the entry to the venue. As a few guests posed on the carpet a black Rolls Royce pulled into the lot and Evander Holyfield got out with Olympic Champ Henry Tillman. They both headed to the carpet to get photographed and interviewed by the media.
As Holyfield stood at the end of the carpet after being interviewed he had this look on his face as if he was in deep thought. Someone asked him if he needed anything. He said with no hesitation, I would love to have a milkshake. Someone made a comment about flying one in for him. He said there is a McDonald’s right up the street. So someone from his team went to fetch him his Birthday shake.
They had Holyfield’s table set up with bottle service when he arrived inside. The party went on until around 2am. What a great time everyone had. Happy 50th Birthday Mr. Holyfield.
