Recently insiders and guests gathered at Oak Grove at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu for an event which showcased a Southern California twist to the Kentucky Derby!

Guests were able to experience a day at the races while sipping on derby inspired cocktails such as the 'mint julep', enjoying live music, gourmet southern food trucks, fashion and more. The premium open bar served cocktails using Woodford ReserveDon JulioVoss Water, and Peroni.

Among the picturesque backdrop of the rolling hills guest had endless opportunities to capture the many moments and instillations on site. Woodford Reserve had cheese and chocolate pairings for attendees to take in the many aromas and key notes within the liquor. Van Nuys Jeep was also on site showcasing its latest edition. To really bring the event full circle guests enjoyed music by a local bluegrass band, 'The Get Down Boys', and could bid on horses to feel like it was truly 'a day at the races'. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales benefit both Canter California, an organization dedicated to transitioning thoroughbred racehorses off the track into new careers and RideOn, a charity that teaches adaptive horseback riding to children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Celebrities such as Camille Grammer (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), James Anderson (New Orleans Saints), Dennis Haskins (Saved By The Bell), Carissa Rosario (Model), Leslie Birkland (Big Rich Texas), Jasmine Dustin (Being Mary Jane), DJ Rich Rubin (KROQ)  attended the event.

No ticket to the actual Kentucky Derby - no problem as this was surely the next best thing!
