Cinco de Mayo Los Angeles 2014

Cinco de Mayo and Los Angeles go hand-in-hand and that means there are no shortages of celebrations no only Cinco de May, but there are festivities that go all weekend long as well. Splash Magazines Worldwide has put together some of the best spots to celebrate this day as well as some recipes for you to enjoy if you are celebrating with friends at home.

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo weekend, Citadel Outlets, Los Angeles' Choice for Outlet Shopping, is proud to welcome respected Latino actor and producer Edward James Olmos and actor, Emilio Rivera, star of the upcoming indie feature film Water & Power.  Presented by Olmos, Water & Power is set to debut on May 2nd at AMC theaters in Los Angeles. The film follows the story of a California politician who must help his brother, a crooked cop, out of a crime-gone-wrong. The film centers on an authentic portrayal of the eastside of Los Angeles looking out, and a community near and dear to the hearts of both Olmos and Rivera.  Throughout the weekend, Olmos and Rivera will be stationed at the Citadel Outlet's center court to meet and greet local community members, take photographs and answer questions about the Water & Power film.

Citadel Outlets will continue the weekend festivities with performances by the Ballet Folklorico De Los Angeles, a company passionate about sharing the beauty and richness of Mexico's history and traditions through dance. Following the traditional dances in the Citadel courtyard, a roving Mariachi Expectacular band will serenade shoppers as they perform at various locations throughout the center.

Saturday, May 3rd and Sunday, May 4th visitors to the Citadel Outlets will be able to take part in the following events: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a Meet & Greet with Olmos and Rivera, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Ballet Folklorico De Los Angeles performances and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will be Mariachi concerts

A taco cart will also be stationed in center court and will be serving $2 tacos throughout the weekend .The Citadel Outlets are located just off the Interstate 5 at Atlantic Blvd North at 100 Citadel Drive, Suite 480 Los Angeles, CA 90040.
