California Spirit Review - American Cancer Society Celebrates 30 Years of California Spirit

The best LA chefs, CA wineries & mixologists were all at The American Cancer Society California Spirit Fundraiser this past weekend!

 

Hosted by James Beard Award-winning chef Rocco DiSpirito, the 30th annual event was held at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City on July 19th, 2015. Festivities began at 4pm and guests were able to enjoy an exciting evening with samplings from the best chefs, wineries, and mixologists in Los Angeles, silent and live auctions, live entertainment, and a raffle for a 2015 Ford Fusion Energi from the Southern California Ford Dealers, KABC-TV, KCBS-TV/KCAL-TV, KNBC-TV, and KTLA-TV.

 

Many chefs and mixologists were on site such as chef/ proprietor Thomas Keller from bistro Bouchon Beverly Hills and renowned mixologist Julian Cox to name a few. Participants this year included:  Catch & ReleaseRedbird, and ICDC. Together with Barrel & Asheschi SPACCALemonadeKnuckle & ClawPicca, TavernA Sweet Savory, and wine and spirits from Malibu VineyardsMystic Hills VineyardThe Wine House, Greenbar DistilleryTito’s Handmade Vodka, and LVP Sangria the event will provide guests with a taste of the city’s finest offerings.

The honorary co-chairs at this year’s event were Sherry Lansing, Phil Rosenthal, and Bill Chait. This year’s Diamond Sponsors were Joyce Eisenberg-Keefer and Mel Keefer, with Sherry Lansing serving as this year’s Platinum Sponsor.

Thanks to everyone that came out and those that continue to show their support for the American Cancer Society! For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been making continuous strives to fight the end of cancer. With support from millions of people the American Cancer Society has been able to translate their research findings into action and has seen a 20% decline in the US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. The California Spirit 30 fundraiser also contributes to finding a cure. Through research, raising funds, and awareness the event creates an evening filled with gourmet food, wine and spirits from local chefs, vintners, and mixologists.
