California Dreaming Fashion Show at Vibiana Los Angeles

Thursday, Oct.20th 2011 Fashion Style continued its celebration of fashion week in Los Angeles at Vibiana with a show called California Dreaming.

After an introduction to FBI’s (fashionbizinc), an organization that was created to help support new creative artists develop their fashion lines by teaching them how the apparel business works, Taylor Armstrong (Real Housewives) and comedian Brett Walkov presented the MAFI award (Moss Adams Fashion Award) for best innovator to contemporary women’s designer Nally & Millie

recognizing their unique and innovative use of pattern and color. With flashy swing dancers and puffy neon colored

50is and 60is dresses Rhapsody Clothing kicked off the show.

Next was a hip-hop dance group announcing The Continuous Line, a very interesting active lifestyle brand that creates functional quality apparel in the areas of surf, skate, snow and street wear for men and women.

Angelino’s men’s and women’s line seemed boastful and a bit too obvious nightclub fashion

in contrast to International Citizen Design House who offered a distinctive style with a new global concept. Inspired by world travel this line showed some really interesting combinations of pants and jackets that seem not only visually pleasing but also comfortably merging old lines with the new.

Odina surf represented a new generation of surfer girl with its charming and innovative swimwear in bright yellow, whites and pinks.

Robert Joseph’s men’s swimwear designs, constructed his one-piece pattern incorporating only 2 seams, seemed despite hard bodies and animating music less inspiring.

Surprisingly elegant, stylish and sexy shone Unspoken, a fashion forward sleep and lounge wear, using fine silk coupled with lace offering women an entirely new approach to seduction.

A dash of old Hollywood glamour and inspired by Oscar de la Renta, Coco Johnson’s luxurious gowns and suits really brought out the beauty and confidence in the models. A former model Miss Johnson sure hit a high note this evening, making a statement with each dress and leaving the audience gasping in owe and excitement.

Last on the runway Marisa Kenson showing her beautiful printed dresses and embellished tops, blending classic and chic silhouettes with fresh flirty patterns.

The evening was sponsored by Moss Adams, Magic, Woodbury University, Rhapsody, Venable, California Market, Cathay bank, Center Bank, EB+G, FTC, Stony, Rosenthal& Rosenthal, CIT, Rock&Revival, Buchhalter Nemer, Platform, Style Fashion Week, Finance One, Runway FTV, Aims, bling, Bubblefish Media, Untitled and Apparel News and Napoleon Make Up.
