Betsey Johnson "HOT Fall/Winter 2014 Collection": LA Fashion Week - Front Row Fashion Review

Los Angeles fashion rose to a whole new level last night at Style Fashion Week during LA Fashion Week 2014 with the epic collection of fashion icon Betsey Johnson held at the L.A. LIVE Event Deck.

The legendary 71-year-old grandmother-of-two, has been rocking the fashion industry with her unique and original designs since the 1960’s. Her commitment to remain true to her one-of-a-kind vision has afforded Johnson continued success in an industry known for its fickleness.

Bold yet playful “Hot” Womenswear Collection Fall/ Winter 2014 was inspired by the eighties-obsessed teenage girl and all the rock chicks celebrities such as Rihanna’s smokin’ style, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Beyonce and even the year’s sizzling film American Hustle. “It’s all about the clothes!” Johnson said. Her sense of style is stronger than ever. Fashion shows are definitely a time for her to have a fun.

Models walked down the runway with rock-chick attitude wearing sequined dresses, thigh-length stockings, fur coats paired with bold accessories and bright bags. The collection’s color palette was indeed vibrant and playful with colors of hot pink, lime green and canary yellow. As for the make up, false eyelashes, glittery lipstick and layers of eyeliner ruled the show.

The backdrop of the stage displayed the bold tagline 'Hot’.  Never to disappoint, the show closed with semi-naked firemen out on to the catwalk followed by Johnsons’ signature post-show performance of the cartwheel routine and a split. "I love L.A. Fashion Week…” she mentioned to LA Weekly.
