LASplash.com: Los Angeles Events Tommy Hilfiger presents "Ironic Iconic America" Review - A Bravo Celebration By Tharry Toeun “Ironic Iconic America” is a Bravo TV special that outlines what makes America ironic and iconic. Featuring a U.S. trip with Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli and Def Jam’s Rives, this documentary segment was inspired by the book “ Iconic America: A Roller Coaster Ride Through The Eye-Popping Panorama Of American Pop Culture”, a collaboration between fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and art director George Lois.
The red carpet evening brought out many Hollywood stars including Dirty Sexy Money's Zoe Mclellan, Sex & the City’s heart-throb Jason Lewis, and 90210’s Annalynne McCord. The beautiful, Emmy Rossum also showed up, wearing Lagerfeld, and talked briefly to LA Splash about her all-time favorite designers. When asked about what makes Tommy Hilfiger and America so iconic, she exclaims, “Tommy Hilfiger is America!”
Wearing a black Tommy Hilfiger mini cocktail dress and Christian Louboutin pumps, Bar Refaeli was all smile and charm on the red carpet. As she talks about hosting the Bravo show, she also shares her admiration for the designer.
Jenna Fischer, who told LA Splash that she’s not a fashionista, proved otherwise on the red carpet wearing a fabulous, crossed, zig-zag-pattern dress by Hugo Boss.
Tommy Hilfiger graced the red carpet in his trademark look: dark denim, white oxford, a dark navy blazer, and Chuck Taylor All Stars converse sneakers. After posing for a few photographs, Hilfiger talks with LA Splash about what makes American so “iconic”. “I am always inspired by pop culture and America. Everything from art, music, surfers, preppy kids, Barbie dolls, McDonalds, M&M’s.” Hilfiger goes on to explain how his career as a fashion designer has always been driven by everything American.
Other celebrity guests included: Lukas Haas, Elizabeth Banks, Matthew Perry, Jenna Dewan, Lindsay Sloane, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, Joanna Garcia, Sara Paxton, Camille Guaty, Jessica Szohr, Jennifer Esposito, Laura Prepon, Kathy Hilton, and many others.
From the looks of the impressive guest list and glittering names on the red carpet, the party turned out to be a major hit. Tommy Hilfiger is indeed not only a fashion icon, he is an American icon. Consequently, there is no one suitable enough to tell the story of “Ironic Iconic America” but Tommy himself. For more information on
