Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA Division of Hematology/Oncology hosted their Annual Holiday Party for past patients—children with cancer and blood disorder, childhood cancer survivors—and their families. They have been through some rough times; having an event where fun and laughter is was shared—beautiful!

“The annual holiday party is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology patients from Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA,” said Dr. Kathleen Sakamoto, Chief, Division of Hematology/Oncology Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA. “It brings true joy to our current and former patients, and they look forward to it all year. We are grateful to Madame Tussauds Hollywood for their generosity and support in hosting this important event this year.”

President of UCLA’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Advisory Board, Mark Verge, explained, “Due to the current economy, this Holiday celebration for the kids was about to be cancelled but M adame Tussauds Hollywood donated their venue so the party could happen.”

Madame Tussauds Hollywood is very special, and it allowed the families and children to interact and take photos with figures of Hollywood celebrities, sports stars, and action heroes.

Food for the party is was donated by Wolfgang Puck Catering and Farmer John. The Simpsons characters, celebrating their 20th anniversary, hosted the party. The Children loved taking photos with their favorite cartoon family.
Many pictures were taken and many memories created as the families feasted and shared quality time together. Madame Tussauds Hollywood was the perfect venue for the party making it an enjoyable, interactive time. It was a special night for all the families and past patients involved.
