LASplash.com: Los Angeles Events Red Hot @ Red Seven Review - Wolfgang Puck Paints the Town Red! By Judith Orr
For the second year Wolfgang Puck’s Red Seven Restaurant hosted RED HOT @ RED SEVEN located at the Pacific Design Center on September 26, 2008. The event was to celebrate the 26th Anniversary of the American Wine & Food Festival, which took place at Universal Studios Backlot on September 27, 2006.
The American Wine & Food Festival is put on every year by Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff, to raise money for Meals on Wheels. Since its inception in 1982, the Puck-Lazaroff Charitable Foundation has supported the American Wine & Food Festival, raising more than $14 million for the Los Angeles Chapter of Meals On Wheels. This organization serves thousands of meals each day to Los Angeles’ homebound, senior and disabled citizens.
The star of the evening was beef, beef, and more beef, paired with tastings of delicious wines.

Red Seven makes the most luscious food. I’ve attended some great events there and always enjoyed great food, still for some reason I haven’t gone there for a regular dinner. I am definitely making it a priority dinner destination from now on after being reminded just how much I love the food there. My favorite dish of everything I tasted the entire evening was from Red Seven and it was the Fried Oysters with some kind of incredible sauce and served in a shell. It was just so perfectly crispy in just the right places. The oysters were large too, and even though I didn’t want to get too full on one food item with all the yummy things to taste, I ended up eating 5 of them. Yes I know, how could I?…. but I did it anyway, and I can’t wait to go back to Red Seven to eat them again. I honestly can say I’ve never tasted anything quite like them.
Red Seven passed around a wonderful array of tasty tidbits, but my vote for second favorite of the night would have to go to Matt Accarrino of Craft, in Los Angeles with his Grilled Skirt Steak with Spiced Flatbread. It was just delicious with the most perfect marinade. The Famous Chef Tom Colicchio, who is well known as the affable Main Judge on the hit television show “Top Chef”, owns craft.
Another part of the event was the fabulous silent auction where you could purchase luxury trips and gourmet dinners, as well as many other wonderful items.
