Go
deeper into screen legend Marilyn Monroe's life with those who knew her
well. TV host Harrison Held discusses
the late actress with a panel of her remaining friends on the trilogy "The
Ultimate Marilyn." The third volume
of the show debuts on Marilyn Monroe’s birthday June 1, when she would have
turned 83. Of course, all Marilyn Monroe fans will want
to celebrate the event along with people who are merely interested in the
beautiful screen icon. Monday, June 1 is
the launch date of The Ultimate Marilyn
- Volume 3,” which is hosted by Harrison Held and debuts online
for a global audience at www.HarrisonHeldStarMedia after an
extremely successful local run on Time Warner in Los Angeles.
Volumes
1 and 2 of “The Ultimate Marilyn Trilogy” debuted online over the past two
years and have developed an enthusiastic worldwide audience and fan base,
having been seen by millions of people. Monroe
friends and colleagues on the talk show trilogy include iconic movie producer Stanley Rubin (“River of
No Return”), popular
actress Kathleen Hughes (Universal’s
Marilyn Monroe and “The Glass Web”), award winning artist-actress Diana
Herbert whose father, F. Hugh Herbert,
directed Monroe’s very first film (1948’s “Scudda Hoo Scudda Hay”), Marilyn’s
award-winning hairstylist Sylvia Barnhart (“the woman
that made Marilyn blonde!”), well
known author John Gilmore (“Inside Marilyn Monroe”), Greg Schreiner of the Marilyn
Remembered Fan Club (www.MarilynRemembered.org)
and Jill Adams from www.ForeverMarilyn.com.
Producers
for the trilogy are Michael Montroy, Kat Kramer, Jill Adams and Tanya Somuva,
who was Marilyn’s housemate at the former Studio Club in Hollywood. Volume 3 is dedicated with love to the
memories of the late Chris Rubin, Dave DePino, Faye Dout Tirre and Father Richard
Russell. “These are all very special
people,” said Harrison Held. “They are
in our hearts forever and they never will be forgotten. Of course, Marilyn will never be forgotten
either and this trilogy will only help keep her flame burning.”
Aside from hosting the Monroe
trilogy, Harrison Held is a busy actor in his own right. Held has recently appeared in the film "One
Big Break" as Ray the Rocker, a guy
who dreams of becoming the next Jim Morrison but fails. He also appears in Mark Ruffalo's directorial
debut "Sympathy for Delicious” with Orlando Bloom. Held recently matched up with Diana Levitt at
Diana’s very successful art exhibit at Hollywood’s famed Woman’s Club and the wonderful event
brought out many celebrities including actor Bill Lithgow, producer Stanley
Rubin and actress Kathleen Hughes.
Herbert’s award-winning art can be seen at www.DianaLevitt.com. Held and Herbert also were seen at the 18th
ELLA (Ella Fitzgerald) Awards honoring Herb Alpert and Lani Hall on May 18,
2009 in Beverly Hills. Performers
included Alan Bergman, Gay Mens' Chorus of L.A., Marilyn McCoo & Billy
Davis, Jr., Renee Olstead, Steve Tyrell, Tata Vega and Paul Williams. Marilyn Monroe was Hollywood's first mainstream star to
endorse Ella Fitzgerald's career in the early 1950's. To ensure Ella
would be booked at a club that had never booked an African American singer,
Marilyn promised the club's owners that she would appear every night at a table
next to the stage where Ella performed. Marilyn kept her word and it
greatly changed the course of Ella's career.
With this boost to her career, Ella never forgot it and always
extended a friendly hand to the Monroe circle.
The Monroe trilogy captures the
memories of Marilyn from the people who knew her and reveal what really took
place during those magical years. Enjoy
this treasure.
