Renowned landscape photographer, Jeff Mitchum, is partnering with Fame & Philanthropy for a charity event Sunday, March 2 at The Vineyard Beverly Hills during the Academy Awards. The inaugural fundraiser is in support of Community Inspiring Today’s Youth (CITY), an organization that is helping today’s youth by providing programs on education, mentorship and entrepreneurship. This amazing evening will feature a keynote address by Academy Award winner James Cameron, a musical performance by Ne-Yo and celebrity guest appearances that will include Charlize Theron.

“I’m honored to support such a fantastic event,” said Mitchum. “As a self-taught photographer who is still inspired by his childhood mentor, I completely understand how the words of a single person or the actions of a community can influence a young person. The time we take and the small decisions we make today can make a great impact on many generations to come.”

Harnessing the power of celebrity, the black-tie event hopes to raise as much as possible for CITY in order for the organization to continue to cultivate pre-teens and teens and provide them with the necessary tools to reach their entrepreneurial goals. The event begins at 8 p.m. and will also include a unique dinner designed by a celebrity chef and a live auction.

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can call 424-333-8104 and mention Jeff Mitchum Galleries to receive special pricing or use access code “jeffmitchum” online at Fame and Philanthropy For more information visit Jeff Mitchum.

MARTIONI’S VISION

Emerging from the LA fashion scene, Martioni’s vision is to expose the City of Angeles as the number one fashion of capital of the world. His path to the fashion foray led him to hosting countless premiere fashion shows, which helped him gain the respect and adoration of many of his industry peers. Amongst the savvy fashionistas at his shows were veteran industry publishing editors and the Queen of Pop music herself, Madonna.

Last Oscar season, Laura Dern (Enlightenment, Jurassic Park), daughter of this year’s Best Actor nominee for his role in Nebraska, Bruce Dern, invited the burgeoning fashion company to dress the beautiful star. Due to time constraints, MLB Styling was forced to decline. The exposure led them to be invited back at this year’s Golden Globes to style some of the world’s most illustrious glamour girls. With the upcoming end of the triumphant award season, MLB Styling aims to garner worldwide exposure and spearhead the fashion campaign in every major. We hope to be invited back this year and dress the nominees of the Oscar nominated films this year such as Gravity, 12 Years of a Slave, Philomena, American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club, Her, Captain Phillips, Nebraska, and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Lori McShane, actress and client of MBL, will soon grace the cover of LA’s “The Dream” Magazine. She will also appear in the independent feature film The American Dream and Red Prophecy this March.

On Sunday, March 2nd Terranea Resort, by Destination Hotels & Resorts, mar’sel will hold an Oscar evening viewing party at its marquee restaurant mar’sel, enhanced by a themed menu inspired by some of 2013’s top films.

This year’s menu, executed by mar’sel Chef de Cuisine Rebecca Merhej, will feature appetizer, entree, and dessert dishes created to celebrate eleven Oscar hopefuls. The diverse array of films appearing on this year’s menu span from the visually stunning Gravity, interpreted through Merhej’s “Moon Pie” dessert, to the animated, prehistoric comedy The Croods, represented by Roasted Bone Marrow with garlic confit and pickled vegetables.

Additional menu highlights will include “Science Oven” Hot Pockets made from house-made pan bianco and filled with white cheddar and prosciutto (American Hustle), Cowboy Chili Beans with sour cream, sharp cheddar, and green onion (Dallas Buyers Club), and Potato Blini with caviar, crème fraiche, and truffle oil (Wolf of Wall Street). Dessert is equally inventive with Berry Cobbler and sweet whipped cream (12 Years a Slave), Homemade Saltwater Taffy (Captain Phillips), and more.

The sommelier at mar’sel has selected Don Perignon, Dom Perignon Oenotheque, Taittinger 'La Francaise' as special highlights from the wine list for the evening. Themed craft cocktails will also be available.

The viewing party at mar’sel will begin at 4 p.m., with the Oscars broadcast to follow at 5 p.m.  Viewing party guests will have a chance to win a special prize through a featured contest, in which each guest in attendance will fill out their own Oscar ballot.
