The Hollywood Christmas Parade, an American holiday tradition for 82 years, will be welcoming many new sponsors into the fold for this year’s extravaganza to be held on the streets of Hollywood, CA on Sunday, December 1, 2013 kicking off with at 5:00 p.m. with a super-star-studded concert prior to the start of the parade at 6:00 p.m.
Presenting sponsors of The 2013 – 82nd Hollywood Christmas Parade Benefiting Marine Toys For Tots include The City of Los Angeles and Associated Television International, which is also producing the nationally televised two-hour special which will air on the Hallmark Channel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11th, and on Friday, December 20th on both the Hallmark Movie Channel at 5:00 p.m. and locally in the Southland on KTLA Channel 5 The CW from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.
This year’s parade will benefit Marine Toys For Tots Foundation and there will be a special salute the Disabled American Veterans. The parade will also salute The Young and the Restless on their 40th Anniversary.
Parade Sponsors for this year include: Funrise Toys/Tonka will have their Tonka T-Rex and “Despicable Me 2” will have an interactive truck on display for public viewing from 1:00 – 3:15 p.m. on the northwest corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue on Sunday, December 1st), Vons, Elf On The Shelf, Thomas & Friends, Caillou and Gilbert, Wells Fargo, Knott’s Berry Farm, JustFoodForDogs, The Venetian Las Vegas, GLEEClub Australia, Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s “Despicable Me 2,” Make a Wish Foundation, Los Angeles Zoo, Madame Tussauds Hollywood, Disney’s “The Lone Ranger,” Connection Academy, Hollywood Hotel, Metro, Ticketmaster, Betty Crocker, Chem Dry Carpet and Archibald Mouse.
Buzz Aldrin will serve as this year’s Grand Marshal. Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie will serve as Broadcasts Hosts. Dean Cain and Montel Williams will appear as Special Featured Hosts. The parade will feature 55 celebrities and VIPS, 17 bands, including four from out of state, seven Equestrians, 10 Special Groups, 10 Balloons and seven characters.
A super-star-studded concert will be presented prior to the parade featuring performances by Stevie Wonder, LeAnn Rimes, Billy Ray Cyrus, William Shatner, Kenny Loggins, Daughtery, Goo Goo Dolls, Richie Sambora, The McLain Sisters, Ace Young and Diane DeGarmo, Olate Dogs and Glee Club Australia, hailing from the Australian Institute for Performing Arts.
This year’s parade will also include television shout-outs from Larry King, Marie Osmond, Taylor Hicks, Susan Lucci, Wayne Brady, Debby Ryan and Joe Mategna with the “Criminal Minds” cast. Actress Valerie Harper will be recognized as the “Most Inspirational Person of the Year.”
Tickets for Reserved Seating in the Grandstand for this year’s parade are $85, $65 and $45. For Groups of 25 or more, Grandstand discounted ticket prices per person are $75, $55 and $35. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster, select Walmart locations, select Simon Mall locations, Curacao locations or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000. All seats are reserved at the time the order is placed. There are no refunds or exchanges. All major credit cards are accepted, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. There will also be FREE curbside viewing available along the majority of the parade route.
