I arrived at Water Tower Place on a glorious summer day. We walked up to the second floor to see a very exciting preview of “Love, Loss and What I Wore”, the smash hit Broadway production by Nora and Delia Ephron! If those names sound familiar to you, it’s because you’ve seen them at the end credits of movies like “Julie and Julia” and “When Harry Met Sally”!

After a few complimentary cocktails and hors de’oruvres including fresh humus and vegetables and shrimp salsa provided courtesy of Water Tower Place’s “Food Life”.
While snacking, I was invited to have a portrait drawn of myself wearing my favorite outfit. Art students from the International Academy of Design and Technology sketched as they asked you to describe an outfit that is significant to you in some way and then they drew you wearing it!
I couldn’t decide on a favorite outfit (way too many to choose from!) so the artist captured me wearing what I already had on and she did a lovely job!

After that we got to hear from those involved in the production including a special appearance by acclaimed producer Daryl Roth! She spoke enthusiastically about the quality and sentiment behind “Love, Loss and What I Wore”, musing that this show really has something for everyone and is relatable on a personal level. Even men couldn’t complain about the delightfully witty repartee!
