2,4,6, 8, who do we appreciate?! Bring it On: The Musical! Universal Studios' 2000 hit movie has now turned into an acclaimed hit musical that has captured the hearts of cheer fans and theatregoers alike! This hilarious tribute to ultra competitive realm of high school cheerleading features music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Lin-Maunel Miranda and composer Tom Kitt.
Ever since she was a child, cheer enthusiast Campbell (Taylor Louderman), has fantasized about being the captain of her high school squad, and at the start of her Senior year, all of her dreams are about to come true. With her ditzy best friends and co captains Skylar (Kate Rockwell) and Kylar (Janet Krupin) by her side, nothing could possibly go wrong! But when perky and innocent Sophomore newcomer, Eva (Elle McLemore), takes over as captain in the wake of a school redistricting, Campbell’s hopes are crushed. As Campbell is forced to take on wrong-side-of-the-tracks Jackson High, she finds the students to be a far cry from her spirited teammates back at her old school.
Determined to continue her cheer legacy at get back at the conniving and scheming Eva, Campbell bands together the best of the Jackson hip hop dance crew, including sassy queen bee, Danielle (Adrienne Warren), to help her take the national title.
You’ll be delighted to watch some of cheerleading’s toughest and most elaborate jumps, lifts, kicks, flips and tricks, choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, set to catchy, upbeat tunes with plenty of witty banter in between.
Crowd pleasing numbers include, title track “Bring It On”, “Do Your Own Thing”, “Killer Instinct” and the explosive “Cross the Line”, only to name a few.
