Donations and Celebration In Memoriam for Eric Eatherly

Chicago-Splash joins the many Chicagoans and especially members of the arts community who are mourning the tragic loss of Eric Eatherly

Eric, only 35, was killed in a car accident over the holidays while visiting family in Tennessee.

Read the moving tribute to him written by the Chicago Tribune.

A former dancer who became a writer and publicist when his dance career was cut short by an injury, Eatherly was widely respected and appreciated.  Splash journalists who had worked with Eatherly have all expressed great sorrow at this unexpected loss.  One Splash journalist, Ginger Lane, speaks for many when she says, “I was so impressed by his friendliness, easy but professional manner, and love and knowledge of dance.”

Eric’s family and fiancee have asked all to make donations in Eric’s memory to two causes that he championed--the Human Rights Campaign and/or Joffrey Ballet's Academy of Dance.

Beth Silverman, President of The Silverman Group for which Eric served as Vice President shares, “A Celebration of Eric Eatherly will be held Jan. 17 at Joffrey Tower, 10 E. Randolph Street, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Open to all. Please join us for this tribute to our incomparable friend.”
