SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino – Opening the Luxurious Doors August 23rd

Once the news was announced that global hospitality leader sbe, would be opening a new property on the iconic grounds of the Sahara Hotel & Casino, the excitement could be felt all over the west coast. The SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will finally give Las Vegas what they have been anticipating as the SLS will open to the public on Saturday, August 23rd. This gives everyone a little jump on the than projected Labor Day Weekend debut of the SLS, the newest resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip in nearly five years.

“It’s such an honor to be part of a dedicated team working around the clock to help bring our vision to life,” said Rob Oseland, President and COO of SLS Las Vegas. “Today we’re turning on our lights and the countdown officially begins as we prepare to welcome guests at SLS Las Vegas one week ahead of schedule.”

Moving forward, SLS Las Vegas’ impressive new marquee will build anticipation as it counts down the number of days until the property welcomes its first guests. The property’s 10,000-square-foot, four-sided marquee stands approximately 88 feet high by 188 feet wide, illuminating the North end of The Strip. Featuring Daktronics LED video technology, the sign contains more than 12 million LEDs and 4 million pixels for standout quality.

Story Tower

SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino created three different towers which make up 1,613 guestrooms that range from beautiful 325-square-foot rooms to luxurious penthouse suites that span 3,300 square feet. The Story Tower consists of 203 rooms, brings together the high design of an industrial loft and the intricate details of a boutique hotel. The World Tower is sophisticated and sleek, with a contemporary style that is showcased across artfully arranged space in each of its 1,121 rooms. Finally the Lux Tower, comprised of 289 rooms, offers indulgence and relaxation with an artful twist. Intricate tapestry-like wall coverings, plush seating, and the playful peek-a-boo shower showcase Gensler design consultant Philippe Starck’s penchant for whimsical and edgy European design. A few of the Lux Tower suites also feature floor to ceiling built-in balconies. With its opening date set, SLS is now accepting room reservations for stays beginning August 23rd.

The SLS made sure to put together a restaurant lineup that would entice guests to stay on the property and take advantage of all of the wide ranging and amazing restaurants that will be opening along with the hotel.

Bazaar Meat by James Beard award-winning chef José Andrés is a celebration of anything and everything that a carnivorous might imagine. Sushi, sashimi, unique rolls and specialty cocktails from master sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi are what you will find at Katsuya by STARCK.  Chef José Andrés is back again, this time with Ku Noodle, a more casual eatery that showcases handmade noodles and siu mai dumplings that are created in the open kitchen that allows you to enjoy the visual experience of the restaurant. Cleo opened at The Redbury Hotel in 2010 in Los Angeles and now Chef Danny Elmaleh is bringing his acclaimed contemporary Mediterranean cuisine to the SLS. Multiple kitchens, a central wood-burning oven and signature mixology program highlight what Cleo has in store for you. Umami Burger,  was recently named “Burger of the Year” and is the perfect restaurant to pair with William Hill Sports Book, allowing you to wager while enjoying the spectacular Umami burgers.

800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria serves up the fastest pizza in Las Vegas, as this high heat produces a perfect pizza in a mere 60 seconds. While it is cooked quickly that doesn’t mean the quality is skimped up on as they use California-grown tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and handcrafted crust made with flour from the ancient Molino San Felice in Naples, Italy, complemented by only the best charcuterie and local vegetable to complete your pizza. The Griddle Café is open 24 hours a day, but breakfast is where it has made its name. From the signature Mom’s French toast and Red Velvet Pancakes to an inventive Baked Potato Omelet, you are sure to leave satisfied. This is Las Vegas, so a buffet is a must and the SLS Buffet will allow guests to indulge in a full meal with artisanal Mediterranean, Chinese and Japanese cuisines as well a menu of crafted cocktails and an assortment of desserts. Finally for that quick cup of gourmet coffee or a fresh pastry The Perq is on-site as the home of LA-based roaster LAMILL Coffee.

There seems to be no end to the daytime and nightlife experience, the only question is what venue are you going to visit? LiFE takes your from a daytime experience into the night with the combination of nightLiFE and dayLiFE, creating one captivating, multi-level venue. The 20,000-square-foot venue that features over sixty-foot ceilings, LiFE features dynamic visual and lighting elements and a smartly curated combination of premier and up and coming DJ talent. Situated in the location formerly the Sahara Theater, a series of aerialists and performers are integrated throughout the space made possible by theatrical rigging points. Beach LiFE features an open air rooftop pool, 18 cabanas and a series of daybeds in the 10,000-square-foot venue Beach LiFE will open in spring 2015, the space also acts as an extension of the nightclub throughout the year, weather permitting.

If you are looking for live entertainment, the Sayers Club will showcase amazing live performances by emerging and acclaimed artists. From the iconic stage of the Sayers Club to its relaxed outdoor patio, the intimate venue welcomes musical talents and enthusiasts alike.

Foxtail kicks off your night as an early-evening lounge setting that makes way for an exclusive nightclub atmosphere by night. An artistically designed interior meets a spectacular outdoor pool offering, seamlessly connected for a cohesive indoor/outdoor experience with programming highlighted by open format music and celebrity appearances. The space transforms into a nightclub every Friday and Saturday starting at 10 pm. Foxtail Pool Club is directly connected to Foxtail’s interior nightclub and features an expansive pool deck that serves as a daily amenity to hotel guests, private and programmed special events and is home to day and nightlife experiences. A highlight of the venue’s evening atmosphere includes the transformation of the adjacent parking garage and hotel tower into a canvas for 3D mapping, featuring visually stunning content curated by Korea-based KT Corporation. The pool club will act as the resort pool Monday to Thursday and evolve into a party dayclub Friday to Sunday.

Monkey Bar is the SLS Las Vegas’ signature lobby bar and it also doubles as the ideal spot for guests to transition from on-the-go to in-the-glow in an intimate space with a unique selection of cocktails and beer. The Center Bar is aptly located in the center of the casino floor and will catch your eye with the stunning LED fixture hanging overhead. The Center Bar features hand-crafted specialty cocktails and shots.

For those who are looking for something special to purchase while you are in Las Vegas, Fred Segal will be opening a nearly 10,000 square foot retail space at the SLA. The iconic California-based boutique Fred Segal is the exclusive retailer at SLS Las Vegas.  Featuring seven branded shopping experiences located throughout the main casino floor, Fred Segal offers such merchandise as women's and men's apparel, swimsuits, jewelry, beauty, books, art, accessories, a highly curated denim store and Fred Segal-branded items. For daily needs, snacks, souvenirs and SLS-branded merchandise, the SLS sundries store Etc. has you covered.

If you want to feel pampered, the SLS offers Ciel Spa and FRANKANDLEO Salon to take care of your needs. Ciel Spa is a full-service facility offering an array of rejuvenating treatments and services, and encourages guests to continue the experience at home with a retail center featuring premier beauty products. FRANKANDLEO Salon is a posh destination featuring a menu of unique dedicated services using the highest quality of products. FRANKANDLEO’s luxurious atmosphere is crisp and modern, setting the stage for the ultimate in hair and beauty services. If you want to get in a workout while you are at the SLS, Allowing guests to exercise and stay energized throughout their travels, the fitness center offers the latest in Technogym cardio, kinesis and weight training equipment with personal plasma television and music options. Workout alongside SLS’ resident trainer or try the yoga and Pilate’s equipment in the resort’s state-of-the art facilities to get in make your visit a little more tranquil.

The SLS offers a nearly 60,000-square-foot casino featuring dramatic chandeliers, rich colors and an intimate vibe with the décor appointed by Philippe Starck in collaboration with Gensler. The gaming area offers 800 of the latest slot and video poker machines, more than 70 classic table games, a race and sports book presented by William Hill and three table games located poolside. Conveniently located across from the Cashier Cage, SLS Las Vegas also offers an intimate High Limit Salon with a gaming environment for those looking for a more private experience. The William Hill sports book allows you one of the most creative sports book experiences in all of Las Vegas.
