In the final days of my trip to Miami fashion week I was lucky enough to stay at the Riviera Hotel in South Beach. What an amazing, beautiful, classy Miami South Beach display the Riviera Hotel presented to me!
My experience began with the perfect location, in the heart of South Beach, within walking distance to the Raleigh - the epicenter or Mercedes Benz's Miami Swim Fashion Week - as well as the W Hotel and the Convention Center. But this hotel was glorious! The classic sophistication of this art deco splendor offers stylish one bedroom apartments and is considered a boutique hideaway on this sunny coast.
When I was brought to my suite I indeed felt like a king. Walking into my suite, the beautiful forest green walls with white wood accents enveloped me in a feeling of classic South Beach luxury. The comfortable and luxurious couch turned into a bed if necessary.
There was a large flat screen TV set, hardwood floors, an animal skin rug and marble dining table set with plates and silverware. Large windows were adorned with blackout drapes.
Connecting to both this living room and the bedroom was an elegant bathroom replete with beautiful tile walls, a basket full of bath towels rolled neatly, a large mirrored wall as well as a shaving mirror, shower and elegant pedestal sink.
The bedroom was large, with a lovely bed and opulent egyptian cotton bedding and hand-carved mahogany headboards. Heavy blackout drapes dressed the large windows. This and the great flat screen TV on the wall gave the place an overall feeling of luxury.
The check-in happens within an art deco jewel in the lobby of the hotel. At the time of my check-in I was thoroughly informed about all the things that mattered - the time and location of the happy hour and breakfast, the location of the elegant pool and that if I needed beach towels, umbrella and chair they would be issued to me even at the beach located just down the block.
Although relatively small, the breakfast area and pool emanate style and tranquility.
With its lush assortment of rolls, buns and all the other continental goodies, the breakfast would've been just fine for those who are able to eat wheat but being gluten-free I was limited to the fruit and hard-boiled eggs, coffee and juice.
As a special highlight, it is important to mention the selection of designer rooms available at this hotel. There are the lustrous pettite rooms with a modern flare, balcony rooms where contemporary chic meets modern industrialism and the expansive lux one bedroom suites with modern glamor, for the price of a hotel room.
