Bellagio Las Vegas Review - The Quintessential Las Vegas Experience

In the last decade Las Vegas has witnessed a race to see who could build bigger, better and taller. Yet as you walk down the Las Vegas strip, the Bellagio is still the iconic casino on the strip. From the majestic design, the illuminating gold and of course the Bellagio Fountains, the Bellagio will always be considered the originator of the new generation Las Vegas. The Bellagio has the name that when you hear it mentioned, it brings Las Vegas to life.

The Bellagio opened in 1998 and while the Bellagio name by itself is a draw and has cache, it does not rest on their laurels. The Bellagio knows very well that to keep your customers happy and to attract new guests you have to always be changing and improving. The Bellagio recently completed a $70 million room remodel to make your stay a little more heavenly. In addition Bellagio amped up its nightlife experience by teaming with SBE to introduce Hyde this past New Year’s Eve. Next they furthered its partnership with the Light Group by introducing the recently opened Lily Bar & Lounge. Combine this with an unparalleled lineup of restaurants, entertainment, high end shopping and pure beauty and the Bellagio is still the place you want to stay when you come to Las Vegas.

The question is where to begin your Bellagio journey? A good answer is at one of the most famous shows in all of Las Vegas, "O™." The Bellagio has been home to "O,™" a member of the Cirque du Soleil® family, since 1998, quite a run. Without question the success of this show has made it one of the most well-known and sought after tickets in all of Las Vegas. "O™" features world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters that perform in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking experience. If you are going to stay at the Bellagio, it should almost be mandatory that you take in "O™."

If seeing in person is just not enough to satisfy you, now you can train like the acrobatic athletes with JUKARI Fit to Flex. This unique workout blends Cirque du Soleil artistry with Reebok athleticism and is offered exclusively at Spa & Salon Bellagio. This cardio-infused program works to enhance flexibility, muscle tone and coordination. Using the specially designed JUKARI Band and set to custom-mixed Cirque du Soleil music, participants get a real sense of the training Cirque performers undergo during this 50-minute class. This is just one of the classes offered at the first-class fitness facility at the Bellagio. You will also find an amazing spa and salon that will make sure that you are pampered to the fullest. Finally take advantage of the Bellagio pools, while most Las Vegas pools are closed for the winter, you can enjoy the sun while swimming in these heated pools that are open year-round.

I’d suggest you make sure you get your workout in, because the food is tempting and plentiful at the Bellagio. Trying to take in all of these world-class restaurants while throwing down a few creative libations from the genius mixologists and the calories will be adding up. Don’t worry about it, if your workout wasn’t enough, you can walk the strip or stay out even later dancing to make sure you don’t feel guilty about ordering dessert.

The competition among restaurateurs has become fierce in Las Vegas in the past few years and once you see the list of masterpieces at the Bellagio, you will probably think that the rest of Sin City is just trying to keep pace. Choosing a restaurant will be your toughest task as you have the self-named Michael Mina, Todd English’s Olives, the two AAA Five Diamond Award winning restaurants in Le Cirque and Picasso. Are you impressed yet?. For a fantastic view of the Bellagio Fountains as well as a unique Japanese menu, Executive Chef Akira Back has made Yellowtail one of the favorite dining spots in all of Las Vegas. You also have the creative menu and setting of Sensi and of course Prime Steakhouse, a classic when it comes to design and steaks. For that really indulgent Las Vegas experience, Jasmine is the place to visit. Another perfectly located restaurant right on the edge of the Bellagio Fountains this brunch is in class all by itself. Las Vegas is known for its buffets, and while they do get more upscale every year, there is nothing that compares to Jasmine. Referring to Jasmine as a buffet is almost an insult. If you want that setting where you get the choice of anything and everything gourmet Jasmine is for you. There is nothing quite like table side service of tender duck to kick off your dining experience.

Sensi Executive Chef Royden Ellamar

In addition to the seemingly endless line of exquisite restaurants, the Bellagio has created a food event that will offer you an extremely unique experience, the Epicurean Epicenter Series. Imagine yourself as one of the guests on Top Chef and then you will have a sense of what you are in store for. You have one of the incredible chefs from the Bellagio regaling you with stories that provide you with insight behind their food while they are also preparing for you one of the best dinners you will ever eat. Sensi Executive Chef Royden Ellamar kicked off the series on February 11 by pairing his four-course dinner with the wines of ROAR, Siduri and Pisoni. While taking in the show put on by Chef Ellamar, you not only were able to enjoy the wine, but the winemakers also gave you an interesting look into their backgrounds and their wineries. This makes for a tasteful and fun night. This culinary series continues throughout the year and will feature renowned Bellagio chefs Julian Serrano, Edmund Wong. The experience itself is really enhanced by the Tuscany Kitchen, where the series is held. A first class kitchen that is made for television, you actually have television screens giving you close up looks at the Chef so that you can see from your table exactly what he is doing If you are looking for that one event that you will keep you talking once you leaveLas Vegas, this is it.

The view from Hyde

You have gambled, dined to your hearts content, taken in the view and lounged in your room what is left? The nightlife of course. You can get an early start on you late night festivities by making your way over to Hyde. SBE created something magical with Hyde. They have an early evening lounge where you can relax, enjoy some small plates from Circo as well as some creative cocktails like the liquid nitrogen Cable Car. This is a drink you have to order this at least once just for the experience! The liquid nitrogen used in the table side preparation is quite a sight. Don’t plan on leaving Hyde once the sun goes down, as once you are in the doors in a few short hours the transformation begins as Hyde turns into a frantically paced non-stop party that will take you into early hours of the morning. Hyde also might offer up the best location of any club in all of Las Vegas. Overlooking the Bellagio Fountains, you can go on the patio and take in the view of the Las Vegas strip, get cooled off by the fresh late night air and watch as the sky turns from day to night.

The latest edition to the Bellagio nightlife is the Lily Bar & Lounge. A very stylish and inviting setting that is infinitely more intimate that the majority of Las Vegas nightclubs. Certainly in terms of size Lily is a fraction of most of the clubs in Las Vegas, but that is what makes it special. Couches, tables, a bar you can sit down at, you have a more relaxed setting and you will feel at home right away. Combine that with drinks that not only dazzle the taste buds, but they are almost too beautiful to drink. Lily will soon become that one place that you and your friends always have to visit for at least one drink every time you come to Las Vegas.

Why wouldn’t Lily have high expectations as the Light Group already has created one huge nightclub hit in the Bellagio with The Bank? The stunning design and the black and gold color scheme gives you the classic and stylish appeal that The Bank offers its guests. If you are looking for that “club” experience while you are in Las Vegas, The Bank will give you the club, with class.

If you have anything left in the tank after that, don’t forget to get in a few hands of blackjack, take in a game at the sportsbook and oh yes that shopping we mentioned earlier. The Bellagio has just a few shops you might have heard of; Dior, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, Prada and don’t forget Chanel. Not a bad list to have if you were to be charged with the task of putting together only the finest shopping experience in all of Las Vegas.

One visit is all it will take for you to realize why today as everyone tries to copy it but no one can replicate it, the Bellagio is the iconic casino in Las Vegas. Head turning beauty will draw you in the door, but it is all that she offers once you are in the door that will keep you coming back.
