Seniors Will Find Thursdays Friendly at Del Mar in 2009
Thursdays are good days for seniors at
Del Mar this summer and a pair of them the first (July 23) and last (September 3) of the meet are especially sweet.
Those two Thursdays will provide all seniors with both free
Stretch Run admission and a free
Stretch Run reserved seat, as the track salutes its fans aged 62 and up. Additionally, a free program is part of the mix.
Besides the two special Thursdays, seniors who are members of the track’s
Diamond Club will be granted both free admission and a racing program by showing their cards on any other Thursday during the 37-day stand.
Diamond Club cards can be obtained at no cost by a simple sign-up process that usually takes only a few minutes. All racing fans can apply for the cards -- which are activated instantly -- both outside and inside the racetrack throughout the summer.

Surfside Race Place on the
Del Mar Fairgrounds. On racing days other than Thursday, the
Diamond Club card ensures seniors 50% off admission price, while the card is good for 50% off admission on every racing day for all non-seniors.
The track’s season begins on Wednesday, July 22 and runs through Wednesday, September 9. Racing will be conducted on a Wednesday through Sunday basis.
Full-Season Del Mar Discount Passes Offer Excellent Value
For the first time,
Del Mar is offering high-value, full-season passes to its 37-day meeting at a greatly reduced price that makes any fan an instant winner.
The passes are selling for only $25 for
Stretch Run admission and $50 on the
Clubhouse side, good for all afternoons from the Wednesday, July 22 opening to the Wednesday, September 9 close.
Normal Stretch Run admission is $6 per day, while
Clubhouse prices are $10.
The discount passes must be purchased prior to the start of the meeting. They can be obtained either by coming to the track’s advance sales window, or ordering on-line at www.delmarracing.com (click on “Tickets,” then “Order Tickets and Reserved Seats”). Payment can be made by either cash or by using the following credit cards – VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card or American Express.
