The International Lantern Parade kicks-off the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival with an energetic evening parade of pageantry, music and delicious 100% Kona coffee. Follow the parade to its end and spend the rest of the evening listening and participating in a medley of cultural entertainment.

Take a stroll through Holualoa's Art Village for a tasty combination of world class Kona coffee and coffee art at the Holualoa Village Art & Kona Coffee Stroll, or sample unique coffee cuisine at the Kona Coffee Recipe Contest. Chefs, backyard cooks and keiki (children) create delicious entrées, desserts and beverages infused with 100% Kona coffee for prizes and bragging rights as the best Kona coffee culinarian.

Visit the 1920's home of a Japanese coffee farmer and step back in time to relive the lifestyle of Kona's hardy coffee pioneers at the Kona Historical Society's Uchida Living History Farm.

Experience Kona's time-honored tradition of hand picking only the ripest, reddest coffee cherries at the Kona Coffee Picking Contest. Join first-time pickers, keiki, old-timers and even professional coffee pickers in the Kona coffee fields for prizes and the honor of being the best Kona coffee picker.

At the Gevalia Kona Coffee Cupping Competition an international panel of judges selects the best of the best in Kona coffee from more than 60 Kona coffee entries. Akin to wine tasting, cupping determines the truest flavor of 100% Kona coffee. Meet the judges and sample the best of the year's harvest. This year's competition has certified organic Kona coffee farmers challenging conventional Kona coffee farmers for the top honors.

Coffee trade members are invited to meet industry experts and learn the secrets that keep Kona coffee a worldwide gourmet favorite in the two-day Kona Coffee Pacific Rim Symposium. Personalized farm tours and one-on-one encounters with farmers and millers highlight the Symposium.

While in Kona coffee country everyone is invited to explore the many Kona coffee farms, mills and roasting operations with a free Kona Coffee Country Driving Tour brochure. The free brochures are available at Kona resorts, condominiums, activity desks, Kona coffee businesses, and on the Festival web site.

The Kona Coffee Cultural Festival is the oldest and most successful product festival in Hawaii, and is the only coffee festival in the United States. This year the Festival highlights Kona coffee's distinction as an exotic coffee and an American product with the theme Kona Coffee - 100% America Grown.
