A home away from home. A chance to actually bring your family closer together without interruption. The opportunity to make new friends out of perfect strangers. The
Newport Dunes Resort has created its own little world that will give you all of that and more.

Cabana at the beach

The scene is something out of years past. Kids riding bikes, friends sharing a barbeque, marshmallows on a stick toasting to make a smore, people out in the water splashing or just lying on the beach taking in some sun. This is far from the norm when it comes to life in Southern California, but this is exactly what you get at the
Dunes.

The setting at the Dunes

If you own an RV, you won’t find a more accommodating place to pull your motor home into for a stay. It doesn't matter if you stop for just a few days as you are traveling across the country, or if you are taking a nice long vacation and looking to stay for a week or even a month, this is one place you will not want to leave. Don’t think you need an RV to stay here though, as the
Dunes has a number of cottages that are great for an entire family, with plenty of room for everyone. They also provide all of the amenities of a hotel and then some. In addition, you can also make arrangements to do some actually camping with tents and the facilities are such that you have access to everything you will need.

The Dunes Water Park
|
The centerpiece of the
Newport Dunes Resort has to be the water activities. Whether you are a kid or an adult, you are sure to have a great time and you will find plenty of options to keep you busy. The air filled rock wall, trampoline and slide in the swimming area can keep you busy all day, you aren’t often going to find a place you can climb a 20-foot wall and leap off the top into the water. If you want to get out on a boat, the Dunes have everything you are looking for; one and two-person kayaks, paddle boats, sail boats, motor boats and they have made it so you have plenty of area to maneuver, while also keeping it secluded so you don’t have to worry about bigger boats speeding by you. If you have a bigger boat though, bring it, as the
Dunes do have a boat launch and offer daily, weekly, or monthly slip rates at their Marina.

Movies on the beach is another great event put on the
Dunes. From May to September on Friday and Saturday nights, right on the beach, the
Dunes inflates a gigantic screen and will play some of the more current and popular family movies that are available. This is a great chance to grab a blanket or chair and cuddle up with the entire family and enjoy a movie and maybe a smore or two. This is such a fun event, that people who aren’t even staying at the
Dunes will drive in just to enjoy the show and fabulous atmosphere.

The
Dunes also offers banquet and catering services, which allows you to enjoy this great setting for family reunions, company parties or even an amazing wedding on the beach.
The smell of barbeque from campers is everywhere, but the
Dunes can take care of your needs when it comes to food as well if you need a break. The
Back Bay Bistro is being completely made over and will be opening late summer of this year, just in case you are looking for a bit more of a fine dining experience while staying at the Dunes. In addition the
Dunes offers a daily barbeque at the pool for lunch. Just in case you might have forgotten anything, the
Dunes Market Place can fill most of your needs and also offers a great breakfast every morning. Once you park at the
Dunes, you don’t need to start your vehicle again until you leave; everything you need is just a walk away.
If you are looking for a complete picnic that you can pick up and it will be all set for you to eat on the beach, the
Daily Grill is just minutes away from the
Dunes and they offer picnic boxes. These boxes come with chicken, salmon, steak or you can build it however you like. You just have to call in advance, place your order and they even offer curbside pick-up to make life easier and they even provide the tablecloth and utensils. This is a great change of pace if you want to take a break from preparing your own food, but still want to have a picnic.
If you are looking for something a little different next time you vacation and you would like a chance to reconnect with your family while at the same time disconnecting from the hectic and frantic world you live in everyday, the
Newport Dunes Resort is a great place to visit.
